Gigantic new MLB tv deal signed with Turner & FOX.

The big news, is no more Saturday "FOX Window" blackouts for Extra Innings & mlb.tv customers.

The only bad news is this means more Joe Buck calling the World Series.

So everyone wants the Red Sox, As, Reds, Os and Dodgers to win tonight so tomorrow can be chaos.

The way Fox Sports was going on about it last night was laughable. Comment all you want about how good of a player he is, but please don't shove this shit about him being a great guy down my throat. Congrats to him for staying sober for a season, but that doesn't change what he did.

Happy for the baseball viewing public that they won't be boned over by FOX any longer. Good news for everyone.

Now that Miggy's team is in the playoffs apparently we're going to go full retard on the "his team is in the playoff" deal.

Let's put this out there. Trout's team has more wins, one team making the playoffs vs another is irrelevant IMO. Also Trout's team has I believe the MLB's best record WHEN he was on their roster.

Now if you want, point to 2nd half numbers, huge power and run production or something more tangible then "he is the best in the AL at three categories" or "his team made the playoffs"

I read an argument against Trout by a STL writer that said Trout shouldn't get it because he didn't make the Angels out of spring training.

That's what I'm talking about, there's more than enough for people to have a legit argument, very legit. Yet we get "PLAYOFFS" "ROOKIE" "RBI" c'mon people.

Whoever wrote that in St. Louis should have their computer taken away.

                      Agree with all of this.

The playoff argument doesn't work for me because of the reasons you stated. It might be different if the Angels had 70 wins.

On the flip side, i'm tired of hearing from some how the Triple Crown means nothing because RBI are meaningless. Seriously, if you don't think the Triple Crown is an amazing achievement, you have no respect or context for the history of game. Go follow another sport.

Also, i'm tired of the WAR argument being the end all argument for the Trout side. It's as lame as the playoff argument for the Cabrera side. The 2011 WAR leader was BEN FUCKING ZOBRIST. Just stop with the WAR, please. It's a piece of the puzzle, not the be all end all.

The bottom line is neither side is wrong. The only people wrong in this thing, are the people who say "If *BLANK* doesn't win, its a joke, it shouldn't even be close." Bullshit. It is close. Razor thin close. A real argument can be made for both. Neither man will be 'robbed' if they lose. I'm ok with either.

I don't know a single person doing this. I am pretty sure most who are touting Trout are citing his home runs, stolen bases, average, on base percentage, and defense. It just so happens to be that WAR encapsulates all of those, or at least attempts to, into one big number.

I don't give a shit who has the higher WAR, Trout is the better player, in my opinion. Miggy is the unquestionably the best hitter in baseball right now, but Trout brings so many elite components together that it's impossible for me to ignore his superior all-around value.

True, they are both having tremendous seasons. I just find it funny how it's the "old school" set that is siding against the "FIVE TOOL PLAYUH" and the supposed "stat geeks" are employing the eye test over being a slave to statistical achievements. Trout is the one who should be the darling of the crusty old sports writers and broadcasters, if anything. He's got the INTANGIBLES, yet it's the group of people who supposedly don't even acknowledge intangibles exist that is heavily in his corner. Just an odd development going on there.

Adam LaRoche just hit a solo home run to give himself his 100th RBI. First time to 100 RBIs ever.

Also set a career high for home runs with 33
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Good to see Rochey finally put together two good halves of baseball. He's always been a stud in June/July/August, just could never avoid the slow starts.
