Shelby Miller with six innings of one-hit ball against the Reds' A squad tonight. Seven strikeouts, although the only hit was a BS bloop single to Wilson Valdez.

Oh, and he went 2-2 at the plate with a double off the wall.

For the first time ever, Teddy Roosevelt wins the Presidents Race

            Peter G. Aiken-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

It finally happened. Teddy Roosevelt has won the Presidents Race.

Wednesday marks the last day of the regular season for theWashington Nationals, who will be headed to their first-ever appearance in the playoffs. Seems like kind of the perfect day for Teddy Roosevelt to win the Presidents Race for the first time.
No really, it happened. It's done. Here's proof:

Look at that happy guy! Look at that fake Phillie Phanatic! This is history, everyone! HISTORY. This means something.

See, Screech knows what's up. As does the Geico flag-waver.

Teddy took the opportunity to show the crowd that he bleeds Natitude. Or at least, he wears a Natitude T-shirt under his jersey. That's basically the same thing.

And the success of Teddy carried over to the next Nats inning, as Ryan Zimmerman led off with a home run to tie the game and Michael Morse followed up with a double. The producers acted accordingly with an informational graphic.

That number of total bases went to eight a moment later as Morse was doubled home.

A great day for the Nationals and a great day for America. But most of all, a great day for giant foam-headed Teddy Roosevelt.

^ So who do you root for if we get a Nats/Reds NLCS?

Oh and for the Brewers' faithful:

#Brewers GM Doug Melvin said "gut feeling" is won't be pursuing high-priced free agents. In other words, forget reacquiring Zack Greinke.
