If the Rangers lose their next two games, should Ron Washington be fired?

If they lose today, and then lose Friday in the wildcard game, the Rangers are done for the year. If this happens what should happen to Ron Washington?

I say fire him, there's no excuse for the consistent playing time Michael Young has gotten all year, especially with the great options to replace him sitting on the Rangers bench.

    In September:
Michael Young has 110 at bats
Jurickson Profar has 17 at bats
Michael Olt has 40 at bats

    Terrible managing.

He's on auto pilot, just sitting there watching this ship fall apart. Should have won 100 games with this unit.

Also, fun stat. Michael Young has grounded into 26 double plays this year, second most in MLB this year. Only Miguel Cabrera (28) has more.

I agree, but somehow, I don't think the Rangers brass will. The team was so bad for so long that two back-to-back World Series appearances have earned Washington at least two years from being fired.

Yes. Fire one of the only people that can handle Hamilton (addiction issues) so that when Hamilton leaves Washington can follow as some kind of an assistant or bench/base coach.

I think Hamilton is gone regardless.

Which goes hand-in-hand with Washington leaving with him.

                  Yes.
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

You guys are insane. Back to back WS trips should indeed earn him a pass for a bad regular season stretch going into the playoffs which his team did make.

Unfortunately for him, each of those World Series appearances serve as examples of his managerial ineptitude as well. He is just not a very good tactical manager.

                          Bump.

When I posted this thread, the Rangers were winning 5-1 on Wednesday. LOL.
