Can't believe the Angels haven't been more active, though.

We have maybe three needs (LHP relief, back-up/occasional starting MIF, RH bench OF) at most this off-season, so I'm okay with giving one of them a little more money than what they're worth. (Officially it's $7.5 million over 3 years.)

I rather have had Burnett, but Choate will fit in here just fine as long as he's strictly held to pitching against LH batters.

If Reds can get Upton for a package where Gregorious is the top piece, then it should have been done three days ago. I have to assume Upton's salary would the the hold up more than the compensation. If not, i'll drive Gregorious to the airport myself.

Joey Votto will make $17M, $12M, $14M the next three years before jumping to $20.

Brandon Phillips makes $10M, $11, $12, $13, $14 over the life of his extension.

These are both going to end up as bargains.
