I don't remember Rubio saying that he didn't want to play in Minnesota.....did I miss something? I remember hearing it with Memphis and Oklahoma City, but not Minnesota. Either way Rubio does come across as a chump, but he's been treated like the next big thing for several years now, so him having an ego really isn't much of a surprise.
I really don't fault him for using his leverage though, because if he's in a position to force a trade and wants to play elsewhere than use what you have to get what you want. I remember Eli Manning doing that and it seems to have worked out for him. As long as you have the goods its okay....Rubio just better be sure that if he forces his way out that he brings the goods to where ever he is trying to go.
Minnesota obviously had intentions of trading either Rubio or Flynn, because the two can’t coexist, as the both need the ball in their hands to be successful. Not to mention they’d be a very small backcourt that would get exposed on the defensive end. Neither is a premier pro prospect, so its not as if either will be coming in and finding immediate successs. Grooming young PG's is one of the hardest things to do in pro basketball and you mean to tell me they have two? Nah, they wouldn't do that. They're hoping for a trade.
