Just wondering if you guys argued about him as much when he took the bigger contract, to play in Greece.

Again, if you didnt have a reading comprehension, you would've read where it says that veterans demanding trades is different from unproven rookies going against their own word and trying to avoid playing for MULTIPLE teams.

And lol @ you trying to grasp at strings with Cutler. Get over it dude, Rubio is a bitch. Cutler was pushed out of town. And I could give a fuck if you consider him a bitch.. but numerous veterans have demanded trades, it doesnt compare to an undrafted player basically not wanting to play for multiple teams. How is that comparable? Lol. Wow. Josh was an NBA free agent, he was allowed to pick wherever he wanted to go. He didnt cry when he was drafted by Atlanta.

Cutler pushed out of town? Were Rondo and Allen pushed out of town in Boston when they were offered in trades? Cutler was just another part of a proposed trade that didn't happen. Instead of being professional about it, he cried his way to Chicago.

Just face the facts, you are a hypocrite. I'm fine with you being one, it is blantantly apparent considering you are willing to defend one guy who has accomplished zero in the pros really (Cutler), but bashing another guy because he has accomplished zero in the pros. Hell, Rubio has accomplished more in the pros that Cutler has considering he has a championship under his belt, has medalled in the Olympics, and has won MVP awards, while Cutler has done... what? CUTLER HASN'T EVEN GOTTEN TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!

So you are right, Rubio is different than Cutler... he is more proven at his chosen field!

No he didn't cry when he was drafted by Atlanta.

He did however make a smart play and went where the money was. Greece. He was offered a MLE by the Hawks, he turned that down and walked. Rubio is a Spanish player first and an NBA player second. This is what the NBA gets for allowing guys to go to the Euroleague for "development".

Minnesota isn't buying out his contract. He has to pay for it. And to pay out of your own pocket to go play for another (lesser?) team? Doesn't make sense to me either. He can make more money in the Euroleague and develop his game further should he wish to stay in Spain. (Edit: Or try the NBA option later)

Your on here ripping people about their opinion of the situation and you really have no argument.

Rubio is well within his rights to stay in Spain.

Jay Cutler didnt ask McDaniels to handle the situation the way he did. Cutler was willing to work through it but McDaniels let the shit hit the fan. Again, its not even comparable, Rubio has never even stepped foot on an NBA floor, not even a fucking college floor, he has zero right to be picking and choosing where he wants to be drafted. Childress and Rubio are not comparable even in the slightest. The only comparison is that they both played in Europe last season.

I think so far this entire thread so far is an overreaction to something that Rubio's dad said and rumors rather than any actual news from Ricky or his agent...............unless I missed a news break.

Seems like there was a good chance before the draft even went down that Rubio would have to play for another year or so in Europe because of his contract situation anyways so I really see no point to this thread right now.

Did you not read the (lesser?). I don't know much about the euroleague other than the players that come and go from the NBA.

They did not have to pick rubio, HIll could have been drafted instead or even stephen curry yet they decided to gamble and Rubio has the choice, either he's going to get screwed over or the timberwolves were, and he just made the choice 99% of people would have and to protect what's in his best interest.

heres some news from the twitter master, Kevin Love.

A report on Marca on Thursday night quoted Ricky Rubio's father as saying he will likely remain in Spain instead of joining the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Love sent out a Twitter post on Friday indicating that Rubio indeed would remain in Spain.

"Rubio to stay in Spain according to his father," writes Love.
