Clippers GM said this (plus he alluded that pick protection would have been a deal breaker):

“Additionally, we had a 97-percent chance of sitting here tonight with Baron Davis (taking up 25 percent of our cap), the eighth pick in a weak draft and no cap flexibility. Adding Mo Williams and $8.5 million in cap room gave us a better opportunity to become a playoff team next year than adding a seventh player under 23 with no NBA experience.”

Now the Cavs have to make the decision of is a Irving/Kanter combo better than a Williams/Knight combo....IMO Irving brings the most off the court appeal that many of these teams are looking for, so that has to come into play.

Hopefully the Raptors go international with their pick.

I'm surprised that I see a lot of people have Utah taking Jimmer Fredette......Fredette was a good scorer in college, but he's undersized, lacks quickness and really isn't the shooter everyone thinks he is. I'd like to see him take those 30ft shots of the dribble in the NBA.....his game doesn't really fit well in the NBA, because he mainly has to have the ball in his hands to be effective. He's a pounder who takes bad shots when the clock is going down.
I take Williams #1 so one of the other two teams dont take him at 2 or 3. then at 4 you'll have Knight, Walker, or Irving to take your pick of. And fuck the Jimmer. I sick of hearing about this guy already. I think it was Ford's post that made the most sense. Let him go to the Suns to play run and gun

Kemba is not a top 4 pick IMO.

Irving and Williams are the top two guys in the draft. The Cavs need a PG so it fits to bring in Irving. Then with the 4 pick, they can get one of the big Euros or a wingman.

Williams is the best player in the draft IMO.

You take him #1 overall then get your PG at #4 in a guy like Knight.

honestly, fuck those Euros, keep some coin in America. I just dont trust Irving with the number 1 pick. You know what your getting with Williams. reminds me of the guy from Carolina that got drafted just because of his talent and he was the 6th man on the team (williams I think- is he even in the league anymore). Irving played like a month of ball. You get a scorer/PG with Kemba at 4 or Knight.

Kemba may not be a number 4 and Ponder wasnt a 12.

              Marvin Williams plays for Atlanta.

You also know what you're getting with Irving....I understand he only played a few games at Duke, but he's legit. He has top flight speed, vision, can shoot, and can create his own shot. .

still thinking alike after all this time. At 4 you'll have Knight or Kemba

It is likely they could take Williams and have a shot at Knight at 4. It all depends on how much of a difference they see between Irving and Knight.

That move just makes the most sense in my mind. A big guy to play with Hickson down low, then get a point guard. Dont forget they may still draft the Jimmer for all that scoring at 4 if they take a Irving. Imagine Irvign drives, kicks to the Jimmer, misses, Jimmer watches his guy go down the court and score.

Jimmer will be lucky to get picked by 20....he's not going that high.
