I've decided the only way to really get back into the NBA, is to follow a team day to day like I do in the other sports. So what i'd like to do this year, is find a team to watch daily to keep me involved. I'm not going to pretend to be a fan of this team, but I will follow them day to day and watch every game like I do with my favorite teams. I will read the local papers and follow the fan blogs. I'll be all in.

I don't want it to be the Nets or Suns. Years ago I was kind of a Nets fan, but that faded as my interest in the league faded. Before that, my favorite player as a kid was Dan Majerle, so I was a Suns fan. I have no passion for either franchise, so I don't bother pretending to be a fan of either anymore.

I don't want it to be a terrible 20 win team that will become a chore to watch.

I don't want it to be a TNT/ESPN team like Miami, Spurs, Chicago, Lakers, Clippers, Thunder, Boston, Mavs, etc.

Forget the Knicks, I can't stand that franchise.

I'm looking for a mid market, under the radar team that figures to be in the playoff mix. I will buy the NBA package if I have to. This thread will then become an official team thread for the team.

Post suggestions and make a case. Ex Hoyas on the roster are a plus.
The downside of following the warriors are two fold: late night games if you are on the east coast and historically a bad basketball team.

Watching and following the warriors living on the east coast for most of my life I can't tell you all the hours of sleep I've lost. Sadly I've missed very few games over the years. Not only that, I usually go to bed late frustrated and mad during the nba season...lol. I think out of all my favorite teams in sports I defiantely have a soft side for this team just because they have had very minimal success during my life. Gotta love the underdog.

I say it every year, but......I'm really liking the team this year.

...LOL I hate co-dependant threads like this, especially on gaming forums.

the weirdos that start a thread asking " who should i start my Madden franchise with ?" do they need that much help? are they that stupid?..if you are a sports fan and bought a sports game, you obviously already have a top 3 you may use...

anywho, lets take another route...which NBA team is closest to the Rams by/in miles... be their fan.

or..Bradford went to Oklahoma = Thunder

Follow Jeremy Lin to the Rockets and watch as we steer through this "competitive rebuilding" stage. No TNT/ESPN, no superstars, no expectations, just slow tedious games(baseball) that will generally end up in disappointment(Rams). You should feel right at home.

Chauncey is back while Griffin and DJ have been working on their jump shots and free throws all summer (minus Olympics and being hurt in Blake's case):

Not to mention Eric Beldsoe (young, energetic PG - built like a football player), and veterans Grant Hill, Jamal Crawford, Lamar Odom, and co. give one of the best benches in the NBA.

There's a lot to like about this year's Clippers. You get to puff your chest when the players do well while never having to be accountable for failure due to a shitty coach and the shittiest owner.

T'Wolves are out. Love is hurt, and they have too many awkward white guys like Amundson and the geek free agent center from Boston.

This thing is coming down to Golden State & Denver. One I will follow, one I will use in 2K. The one I follow gets a team thread here, so i'm leaning towards Denver since to my knowledge they have no fans on this site. godspeed is a Warriors fan, so we already have a resident GS expert.

duuuude, all that build up for 2 suck ass teams ? cooome oooon?

Golden Steate hasnt been good since Rick Barry was throwing up granny free throws. Denver had one famous playoff win with Dunkonme Mutumbo.

And both teams have forever been the Lakers bitch...are you sure thats your final decision? Are you sure?

I actually want you to pick my Toronto Raptors, but I know a Canadian team is out of the question, so I pick Indiana.

A real team. No alpha dog. A real basketball state.

If they won it all, no one would be upset.

Great arena, real team, no egos ... pure basketball.
