Anybody else disappointed in seeing this thread? I think Debbie Downer = Leftwich for making this so early. I hate off-season so much, the absolute worst time is from Super Bowl-Pre Draft Combines. Long period of nothing.

Yeah I agree. For about a month or two after the superbowl there is nothing on until baseball season starts. I also hate the bye week before the superbowl.

In the off-season I believe the raiders may lose Nnamdi Asomugha. If so the Raiders need to go after Albert Haynesworth. They would have plenty of money and i think he would definitly help out the 31st ranked run defense. The pass defense is 10th but i think it'll hold up.

Also the Raiders need to lose Javon Walker. He has done very little and is eating up a lot of money.

In the 2009 NFL Draft the raiders need to go after an Offensive Tackle and a Wide Receiver with our first two picks.

I personally think Tom Cable should stay as the raiders head coach. He was 4-8 as the interim head coach winning his final two games and has really helped out in the development of Jamarcus Russell.

                      New York Jets

The New York Jets met with assistants Bill Callahan and Brian Schottenheimer on Friday for the team's coaching vacancy, kicking off the first round of interviews as they seek a replacement for the fired Eric Mangini.

The Jets are also set to meet with New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo today.

Mike Shanahan has said that he will not meet with any other teams for two weeks, so he can judge his situation, and likewise, the Jets will not be able to offer Spagnuolo a job until the playoffs conclude.

The Jets also received permission to speak with Baltimore guru Rex Ryan.

                      Chicago Bears

Former Detroit coach Rod Marinelli interviewed today for a job on the Chicago Bears staff. The interview comes less than a week after the Lions fired Marinelli following an 0-16 season.

Chicago newspapers reported today that Marinelli met with Bears officials at their headquarters in suburban Lake Forest. It was not clear exactly what his role would be.

Hopefully Spags stays in NY and becomes the next to coach the Giants after Coughlin retires.
