Shaun Hill is battling for a job with Alex Smith.

          Need I say more?

And I think Smith is going to win the starting job.
He's still young, his shoulder is finally healthy, and when healthy, Smith has a great arm and is a smart kid (apparently he scored a perfect 50 on the Wonderlic).

I wouldn't write Smith off yet. He had enough character to take a pay cut and stick it out in SF.

I agree dave, I still have faith that Smith can become a good quarterback in this league. He's just always been injured and learning a new offense with their shuffling of offensive coordinators.

Smith was way too young (20) when he got drafted, had absolutely no surrounding cast (save for Gore), too many offensive co-ordinators, and finally the shoulder injury.
I don't care what anyone says - if a QB has a shoulder injury on his throwing arm, it's going to have a serious effect on his career.

Sadly, I don't think his supporting cast this year is much better than the one in his rookie year. Vernon Davis sucks, Bruce is 400 years old and Crabtree a question mark.

                      2. Steelers - strong everywhere, fine coach, great QB
                      3. Eagles - much hinges on Westbrook's health, but they're loaded everywhere
                      4. Giants - weak receivers, strong everywhere else
                      5. Titans - very underrated, great O-line, terrific 1-2 punch at RB and I have a feeling Vince Young is not done
                      6. Falcons - Matt Ryan only going to get better, Turner/Norwood awesome, improved D and Tony G.
                      7. Ravens - A consistent winner, Flacco will be better
                      8. Chargers - Shawne Merriman returns, LT might have one gasp left, Rivers better every year.
                      9. Texans - Every year a surprise team emergences. This is that team ... as long as Schaub stays healthy
                      10. Cards - They weren't a fluke last year

Every single year I see this

When it actually happens I may die of a heart attack

Anyways good list apart from naturally I would have had Indy in the top 10 somewhere (not top 5) and the Texans on the outside looking in.

Both teams had a pretty easy schedule and went relatively injury free. It is tough to keep it up two years in a row when you get placed against the higher up teams in the out of division games. Plus, going two years straight without a major injury is pretty tough.

I see them both being about 8-8 at the best.

Atlanta won't even make the playoffs this year.
