So far it's been a very realistic top 10 as well

Brandon Graham at 10 surprises me a bit but when it comes to DE's I agree with the production over potential philosophy as wellComment

Solid pick with Bryant there but with the depth at WR wouldn't a defensive lineman been a better selection there?Comment

If we were doing trades I definitely would have been working the phones.Comment

Interesting pick by the 49ers taking Taylor Mays.
On one hand, he is a physical specimen that would fit right in with Singletary's attitude and guys like Willis, Spikes, and Smith on defense.
On the other hand, the 49ers are stout against the run and would perhaps be better suited taking a cover guy. Mays would be more useful for a team that needs serious help stopping the run.
But I don't think you can afford to pass up on him at that spot because of his raw athletic ability and potential. And I think it's smart to take Mays at 13 while he's still available cuz he might not be there at 16 when the Niners pick again.Last edited by Tailback U; 01-11-2010, 12:56 AM.Comment

With the Giants pick, went with Earl Thomas.
I was considering Mays but felt he's a better player against the run and average in coverage. The Giants really need guys who can defend the pass and Thomas fits that bill. Thankfully, the Ninerss scooped up Mays which made my decision all the more easier.
Thanks to Seattle too, for taking Morgan so I could make sure I had no second thoughts.

The Mays pick was all me. I think he fits more into the scheme and mentality that Singletary is building on defense, and I trust Singletary as a guy who can develop these types of players.
That said, my partners in this, I believe, preferred Earl Thomas, but I dropped the ball on that. I should have selected Thomas but he slipped my mind at the moment I made the pick. I'm happy with Mays, but I think Trojan and St. Francisco might have gone the other direction.S.P.Q.A.
