RB-Edgerrin James, Medal of Honor Recipient Sammy Davis Named Co-Captains
Former Colts running back Edgerrin James and former United States Army soldier and Medal of Honor recipient Sammy Davis will serve as honorary co-captains for the Colts for this Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the New York Jets. James, the fourth overall pick by the Colts in the 1999 NFL Draft and the franchise’s all-time leading rusher, totaled 9,226 yards and 64 touchdowns rushing in his seven years with the club. James, a four-time Pro Bowler, led the league in rushing his first two seasons in the NFL. He set a club rookie rushing record with 1,553 yards as a rookie in 1999, and set the club rushing mark with 1,709 yards in 2000. James, who played with Arizona from 2006-08 and with Seattle in 2009, has 12,246 rushing yards, 11th in NFL history.
Sammy Davis, a native of Dayton, Ohio, joined the United States Army from Indianapolis. In November, 1967, Davis was an artillery cannoneer private with the 9th infantry division assigned to South Vietnam. For his service and courageous efforts in Vietnam, Davis was awarded the Medal of Honor—America’s highest award for military valor—by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. Davis is the only Vietnam era Medal of Honor recipient from Indiana. He also received a Silver Star and Purple Heart.Comment

The Jets most certainly have a better Defense then the Ravens. They're similar in scheme and attitude, but the Jets have the much better secondary, and better Linebackers. The only thing Baltimore has on us is their D-Line, I still think we have the better Front 7 though. We also run the ball better then Baltimore. Baltimore has a great 1-2 punch in Rice/McGahee but Shonn Greene has the freshest legs of any RB left and Thomas Jones is a fantastic spell back, our O-Line is also superior.
We match up worse with Indy, but I feel like we can still win.

Hope kids in Haiti like the Jets, because they are about to get a whole lot of gear coming their way...Last edited by citizenerased; 01-21-2010, 05:09 PM.Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your ChairComment

Agreed. We have a similar attack to Baltimore on Offense and Defense, just think we execute better on both sides of the ball.

The Colts listed 18 players on their Friday injury report, which included RB Joseph Addai (shoulder), TE Dallas Clark (illness), DEs Dwight Freeney (foot) and Robert Mathis (knee), and WR Reggie Wayne (knee). But 17 are listed as probable for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Jets, with DB Jerraud Powers (foot; questionable) the only exception.
Colts DB Antoine Bethea (back) fully participated Friday after being limited the past two days. OT Tony Ugoh (knee) didn’t practice for the first time this week to rest.
The Jets had no changes to their injury report, and everyone is listed as probable.
Looks like only Powers could sit from the two teamsComment
