Havent watched it but when they say Drew, " Is it for Katrina?" He cant just be like nah fuck this state and there hurricanes. I mean yeah even he takes it overrboard at times when he has to get in a tiny message about it so everyone remembers. He spent most of his press conference saying how amazed he is that just a few years ago, Katrina hit yadda yadda yadda. He brought it up, not the reporters.

Wow. Some of you people on VSN are pretty pathetic I must say. You guys watch ESPN alot I guess considering they are the only ones who ever bring up Katrina. Nobody in New Orleans even talks about it. ESPN and Terry Bradshaw have a massive hard on for the hurricane, but its pretty sad seeing as how everyone automatically hates a team for something that people in the region dont care about at all. The only thing worse than Hurricane Favre Katrina Haiti was the USC/Boston College bowl game, which featured the blind kid and the cancer guy. I thought I was watching NBC's coverage of the Olympics.

I don’t believe people are taking issue with him being happy, because that it natural, but I think the issue is that he makes it seem as if he’s the embodiment of the city of New Orleans. Personally, I find it kind of pompous to conclude that after 5 years Saints fans now having something to be happy about and then to say they “deserve” a trip to the Superbowl is just over the top……as if the Saints making it to the Superbowl somehow makes someone’s situation and outlook on life better.

Yeah, well people survived in the Superdome during that shit - I'm sure that made the city appreciate the Saints at least a little bit more. It shouldn't be surprising to anyone that people are gonna talk about that.

Since Katrina, the Saints going to the Superbowl is probably the best thing to happen to the city, maybe the best thing ever. Katrina is going to be remembered now, and the progress the city has made since then - as it should be.

BTW, I thought rebuilding New Orleans where it is, is completely stupid - but so is hating on a team because their city recently went through tragedy and now they've got something to be happy about - and hey, guess what - they're talking about it.

From the perspective of New Orleans still needing help it's fine with me, because IMO people have forgotten about it. However, I just get tired of Brees constantly bringing it up.
