NFLdraftcountdown currently has 6 DTs drafted in the first round in their mock. Ive valued their analysis over the years more than mayock and kiper.

I can see him slipping on draft day (ala Rogers) and ending up as a late 2nd/early 3rd type of player. Somewhere where his contract won't be a liability if he busts.
          you mean for 15-20 plays.

I wonder what gave away the fact that it wasn't a "clean" 370 pounds? Probably not the tits bigger than Pamela Anderson.

Not certain if any team personnel man that attended the event thought they'd see something different with Cody.

Before Cody got to 'Bama he was well over 400 pounds, and it wasn't a nice well over 400 pounds...dude lost a lot of weight at 'Bama, got down to 345 at one point.

He is a big space eating nose tackle, moreover the weight and the physique (Andre Smith's physique wasn't too much better than Cody's), he needs to work on his conditioning.

In a league that had Keith Traylor and Ted Washington stick around for a decade a piece and has Vince Wilfork as one of the leagues best nose tackles and Shaun Rogers, while inconsistent has been solid, there is a place for Cody in the NFL, but he needs to get conditioned to play more plays in the NFL, he has the skill set.

He needs to look at Mike Williams and Aaron Gibson and learn what NOT to do when you get to the NFL, which eat yourself out of the league. He'll have the very best strength and conditioning money can buy once he gets to the NFL. I've spoken to Cody before, and he is a kid that definitely wants to be good, but the weight issue is one that has been around him for a long time.

I'm cautiously optimistic with Cody in the NFL.

He'll probably drop a little bit on draft day, like a Rogers, IMO.

I've posted on their forums for 5 years. Scott Wright really isn't an insider by any means.

I think guys who are already fat in college don't have success in the NFL. Either they just get fatter and suck (William Perry) or their bodies break down right away (Gilbert Brown).
Most cases end up with the fat guy getting fatter with money...a lot depends on their discipline and their dedication to getting more conditioned for the game.

They can be fat as hell, but there is a point of no return...guys like Mike Williams, Aaron Gibson and others suffered from that...while guys like Washington, Traylor, Wilfork, etc. don't and succeed in the league and are valued because of it.

Now I know where I've seen your SN before you came here.

Scott isn't an insider, and I don't know if he ever claimed to be...he is just another draftnik with his own site, but out of the mounds of shit out there, his tends to be, at least of the best work out there.

There really isn't an "insider" when it comes to the draft, either.

As others have said, it solely depends on his attitude and work ethic.

Either he will work hard, get in better shape, and be a dominant force in the league for 10 years.

Or he will hold out, miss all of training camp, gain 30 pounds, break his foot once he gets to training camp, and twinkie himself out of the league and eventually to a heart attack.

Alabama needs to look into hiring a new conditioning coach
