    Chris Houston traded to Lions

On Saturday, the Atlanta Falcons signed veteran cornerback Dunta Robinson to a free-agent deal. With Robinson under contract, they no longer need cornerback Chris Houston.

And so, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, they're trading Houston. To the Lions. For a sixth-round draft pick and a flip-flop of fifth-rounders.

It's a dramatic free fall for the second-round pick from Arkansas, who has started 37 regular-season games and every 2008 contest -- including a playoff loss to the Cardinals.

NFL.com is saying 4th round and 5th swap:

The official source for NFL news, video highlights, fantasy football, game-day coverage, schedules, stats, scores and more.

The Lions and Falcons are discussing a deal to send CB Chris Houston to Detroit for a fourth-round draft pick, according to a league source.

The trade also would include the teams swapping fifth-round picks.

The Lions have been looking to upgrade at cornerback and even discussed trading for Antonio Cromartie, whom the Chargers sent to the Jets instead. The Falcons have a surplus at the position after signing Dunta Robinson.

Houston has started in 37 games during his three-year NFL career. He has 166 tackles and three interceptions.

Dimitroff is all about getting as much as he can in these deals. Swapping 5th round picks is just icing.

Judging by Falcon fans reactions, I don't like this deal.

Except the fact that he didn't know how to turn his head around.

Everyone on the Falcons forum is happy like us. The dude was straight up ass, he looked lost out there. Judging by the way he sounded on his interviews late in the season, he knew his time in ATL was up. Lions fans will understand why we hate him real soon.

Houston was consistent enough but never really did anything that great. Wasn't much of a playmaker at all for the Falcons. Seemed like the only time they showed highlights of him was when he fucked up, which became more and more often this past season until he finally got injured. He wouldn't have gotten his job back anyways because Grimes and Owens stepped up in his absence.

Robinson and Owens should be the starters next season. Another Offseason of work and Owens can be a legitimate #2 for us.

I've seen that Falcons jersey with 23 on it more times than I can count on TV. He sucked, great trade. I hope they let the CB's battle it out in TC/PS.
