I don't know about that. I'm a homer, to be sure, but I'd make the argument that Muschamp is better. Bama's D rattled a freshman with little game experience and a terrible O-Line while Texas' D vaporized a "winner's" brain (McElroy) and gave up one big play to Richardson.

    Either way, they're both elite.

Also, a forgotten player, but maybe the most athletic QB in the country is Robert Griffin from Baylor.
I'm curious to see how this season goes for the Big 12 QBs, because the conference is in a state of flux and all of these QBs have shown promise, but their careers could still go in multiple directions.

I'm sold on Griffin, but how does he return from the knee injury last season? How will Landry Jones perform against a decent defense this year? Will Gabbert be any better 100% healthy?

I don't mention Gilbert because he's only played in one game, so there are tons of questions about how he'll do.

It's unfortunate that the A&M defense will wind up losing them a few games. Johnson is a fantastic quarterback, but will be stuck on a disappointing team.

Yeah our defense is pretty pathetic outside of Von Miller.

I think with another solid season Jerrod can maybe move up and be a late 2nd or a 3rd round pick. Some team is going to fall in love with his size and athletic ability, 6'5 240 4.65 speed.

Muschamp owes his entire career to Saban.

How can you not forget about him? He blew out his knee...and he plays for BAYLOR!

Hmm, I wouldn't say his ENTIRE career. He's kinda made a bigger deal for himself at Auburn and Texas.

Saban may have given him his start at LSU, but did you ever think it happened to be because Muschamp was just that good as a coach?

If that's the case, I'd say Muschamp owes no one but himself. Hell, Jimbo Fisher (who coached with Muschamp at LSU) even said that Muschamp deserves more credit for the defensive performance of 2003.

Gilbert got REAL FUCKING LUCKY. I'm not saying the kid's not talented, but to say he grew up in the BCS NCG is way too much. Anybody who watched it saw he was getting wrecked before Jordan Shipley started saving his ass with long catch-and-runs.

Gilbert's got something, but I just don't think he made his bones in the BCS NCG. He may prove to be nearly as good as McCoy, (In my mind, he's one of the greatest ever... the most winningest quarterback in NCAA D1-1A history.) but he hasn't yet.

Btw, when was the last time the kid from Baylor even played? I know he's fast and what have you, but he's been hurt for a minute.

Do you guys think he'll actually leave up to the hype and potential this year?

Griffin's been out for a year. A lot of people miss a year. It's no big deal. Especially when Griffin was one of the most efficient QBs in the nation as a Freshman

I'm not sure how he hasn't lived up to it so far? He won big 12 freshman of the year with a 15-3 td/int ratio [also rushed for nearly 900 yards] then started his second year in similar form [4-0 td/int] before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of the year. So apart from one very bad injury [which happens in sports] he has looked more than impressive in his short college career.

I wonder how many people in this thread have actually watched more than 4 or 5 Baylor games the past few years.

Honestly, living on the east coast I can only watch when they are on TV.
