Bob Toledo just signed an extension at Tulane, after going 4-8. So I am guessing that he is off the hot seat.

Couple of interviews reported today. Greg Roman, Assistant Head Coach and tight ends coach for Stanford, is interviewing for Vanderbilt. Also, Colorado is reportedly "down to three" between Eric Bieniemy, Jim McElwain, and Jon Embree. I cannot find anything else on Jon Embree.

Tulane football really doesn't care, some faculty and administrators are very vocal about wanting to move down to D-III. They don't really feel like spending much money on football right now, so as long as Toledo likes working there he'll probably be allowed to continue. He's as big a name as they are gonna get at this point for the amount of money they feel like spending, and the "up and comers" will probably avoid it like the plague.

In other in-state news, it turns out Gary Crowton will not interview for the ULL job after all. Not sure why, rumblings were that Miles asked him not to, which is alarming to me. I'm hoping it's because he has other job opportunities lined up, either as an NFL assistant or coaching a decent-sized WAC or MWC school. May he go far, far, far from Russell Shepard and Rueben Randle though. He's wasting those poor kids and ruining their development.

          - Jon Embree is officially the Head Coach at Colorado
          - Jerry Kill to Minnesota, kind of surprising. No interim named yet for NIU, going into their bowl game.
          - Kevin Wilson, Oklahoma's OC, is the favorite for the Head Coach job at Indiana.

Confirmed now. Just saw on ESPN that he resigned.

At first it was reported he was fired, but now it's a resignation. He'll remain at the university in a non-coaching capacity.

The players are very pissed about the move.

The Wannstedt situation is strange, I can't really understand why he would resign and stay with the school. Or, if he was fired, again, why would he stay on with the University. Unless his contract was too much to completely get rid of him. Frank Cignetti is the interim coach.

Three hires worth mentioning, although two already have separate threads:

                        - Al Golden to Miami. I'm surprised by this because I look at like Schiano at Rutgers. He is having good success at a smaller school and would turn down offers until the right one comes along. I always thought that was Penn State for Golden, but Miami it is.
                        - Will Muschamp to Florida. I am not as surprised Muschamp took a Head job away from Texas, especially after their most recent season. I think he was getting anxious and saw a great opportunity in Gainesville. Good hire for Florida.
                        - Mark Hudspeth to UL-Lafayette. Good hire, as Hudspeth was the former Head Coach at North Alabama was most recently the Passing Game Coordinator and Receivers Coach at Mississippi State. Good offensive mind, could get UL-Lafayette to find some success in the Sun Belt.

Just read an article on the Washington Post about this. It seemed that was going to happen, but now it looks official. I'll update that one too. Great move for Vandy. Which means Maryland keeps their Head Coach-in-waiting and Malzahn lands a deal of about $3 million a year.

Best of luck to Doeren. That said, I'm happy it was him who got taken away instead of Paul Chryst, although someone else may hire Chryst.
