Its nice to see someone take a different path than what is expected every now and then. He clearly has other things he'd like to do before playing in the NFL, good for him doing what he wants to do.

He'll make his money regardless of what happens over the next year. Getting his degree is that important to him.

He'll be a first round pick regardless and he'll cash in regardless as well.

I think it's great he wants his degree, but purely judged by a football move, I think it is a dumb one.

          Leinart falling to Vince Young

          Quinn falling to Jamarcus Russell

I know Luck isn't a junior but usually when you are that high of a pick when you are first eligible to be drafted, you get heavily scrutinized if you don't have amazing seasons. Cutler, Sam Bradford, and Tim Tebow have been the only senior QBs to go first round in the past 5 years I believe.

I don't really know much about the class of QBs next year, but if one of them has a great year, Luck kind of falters under a new coach, he could very easily drop hard in the draft.

Sam Bradford wasn't a senior. In fact he was a redshirt junior which is what Andrew Luck will be in 2012

Must've missed the memo where Locker was an consensus number 1 pick and lauded as the best QB prospect in a long time.

Locker's situation is nothing like this, he was a raw QB who would've slipped come draft day anyway when the scouts got a hold of him and realised he is borderline retarded and needs alot of work... he didn't even get a 1st round grade by the draft advisory - http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ory-committee/

And those seniors that had their stock rise during their senior years all were special circumstances imo.

Cutler was a scout combine warrior and won a lot of the media over, Bradford was injured most of his redshirt junior* year so he never really got that heavy scrutiny, and Tebow got drafted because McDaniels is retarded.

Thanks, it's still basically the same situation of forgoing the draft for another year. I wasn't looking any of that up, just remembering him turning down the draft to come back and just assumed. My mistake.

I won't say consensus, but he was getting a lot of hype...

"If you had to ask me right now who is going to be the No. 1 pick in the 2011 draft, I would say it's etched in stone it's going to be Jake Locker," Kiper said on April 7. "You can mark that down. Jake Locker, if he's not the No. 1 pick, it's an upset."

Todd McShay, an analyst for ESPN.com, has the St. Louis Rams choosing Locker with the first selection based on current NFL standings.
I honestly really don't care that much about this, didn't really expect to go this deep into it. Just think it's a risky football decision, clearly he doesn't put as high of priority on football and I have nothing but respect for that. Not coming down on him for that, just think if his true goal is starting NFL QB then he should just go out now. Otherwise, it's whatever...

                      Fuck.

Well, I guess we're stuck with Jimmy Clausen for another fucking year.

You know your front office is going to talk themselves into drafting Ryan Mallett or Blake/Blaine Gibbert or something.

I know you're an ND guy, but he sucks and his team already can't stand him... that's a bad start haha.

                              1. He's a rookie

                              2. Lot's of NFL QB's are pricks. It doesn't help he's already doing it as a rookie though.

                              3. What the hell does an orange name mean?

In the chat box I said there was no problem banging a redhead as long as they aren't a ginger.

The end result is me with an orange name.
