Giants vs. Jets Expected for First Sunday Night Game (9/11/11)

NFL Schedule Could Pit NY Giants Vs. NY Jets On 10th Anniversary Of 9/11 At New Meadowlands Stadium CBS New York

By all accounts, the NFL will announce the first Sunday Night Game, the 10-year anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, as a match-up between the NY Giants and NY Jets.

If they go through with that idea, no doubt there will be a TON of hoopla about it.

Previous regular season match-ups between the two:

    2007 - Giants win 35-24
2003 - Giants win in OT, 31-28 (NYG went 4-12 that year)
    1999 - Giants win 41-28
    1996 - Giants win 13-6
    1993 - Jets win 10-6
    1988 - Jets win 27-21
    1987 - GIants win 20-7
    1984 - Giants win 20-10
    1981 - Jets win 26-7
    1974 - Jets win 26-20
    1970 - Giants win 22-10

Most years I'm excited for the day they release the schedule. This time, I didn't even know it was coming until today.

NFL has really taken a back burner.

I was thinking about it the other day, I can't believe it's already been ten years since the attacks.

It's def cool to see a match up like this and I hate both fucking teams but will be tuned in for AMERICA. I'll also be rooting for a tie.

damn the NY matchup would have been great, but Washington is the next best thing for a tribute to 9/11.
