The reasons behind Kenny Britt’s arrest on Wednesday are becoming more clear.
Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean allegedly “crushed a cigar containing marijuana” to hide it from the narcotics officers that approached him. That explains why officers approached him in the first place, before he allegedly resisted arrest.
Wyatt writes that Britt was charged with tampering with evidence, and obstructing government functions in addition to resisting arrest. Police did not find drugs on Britt; they just suspected them.
Britt pleaded guilty this week to charges that stemmed from an April incident where he sped away from officers, then parked his car and walked away from the vehicle.
Britt is scheduled to appear in the Central Judicial Processing Court in New Jersey at 1:00 p.m. on June 16.
