Another Potential College Football Scandal

Pretty sure what they are talking about is with Oregon. If they find that Chip Kelly attempted to conceal information in the Will Lyles scandal, they will get the NCAA's cock in their ass, fo sho.
There might also be something in the works with Florida/Florida State...one of those.Comment

::puts the record on repeat::
If it's not Oregon, it's an SEC team.
The NCAA doesn't give a fuck about the WAC/Sun Belt/MAC/Independents not named Notre Dame so it's a TV Conference.
Here's hoping it's something retarded like Indiana paying players to take a dive during games.

I respect that the players get a free scholarship FirstTimer ... but let's be honest, the schools get way more out of the deal than the players.
Tim Tebow? Worth more than $40,000 a year to the U. of Florida while he was there.
The NCAA has to come up with a pay scale for Division 1 football and basketball. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

They're getting a free education at good schools. Something 98% of a college student body will never see. You know how nice a full free ride would have been for me when I went to college? I'd surely appreciate not paying a student loan for the next decade.
The players that are talented enough to play football at a professional level will get theirs in due time. The ones that aren't are blessed to have a free ride and obtain an education that will open as many doors for them as they are willing to take on.
A better solution would be to punish agents/boosters more severely for this shit and cut it off at the source. They basically have no fear right now..Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

How much money has Deion Walker made the University of Notre Dame? Has much has he made off of them in free schooling?
You holding up Tebow on one side doesn't balance out the vast majority of players that don't really make the school any money like you are saying Tebow does in football......let alone all the players in other sports.Comment

This shit's starting to be like steroids and baseball. Soon enough, nobody will care.

He got a free ride at the University of Florida at about 20K a year for 4 years... that's $80,000 saved right there assuming he was a normal student who had to pay for it himself or through financial assistance.
Now multiply that number over how many different athletes in all collegiate sports...? Because you couldn't pick and choose what sports have paid athletes and what sports do not. Should water polo, softball, track and field, tennis, golf, etc all get paid? They all in a sense "make money" for the school from an athletic standpoint. But you rarely, if at all, hear about them taking improper benefits from agents or boosters - why? Because those aren't sports where agents and boosters prey on players looking to score a big payday when these athletes go pro.
You want schools to stop getting in hot water? Cut off the source. Punish agents by stripping their license completely and you'll see this stuff subside.. it won't end completely.. but it will subside. Otherwise, you'll hear more USC's, Miami's, Ohio State's, etc keep coming out because these agents and boosters almost literally have nothing to lose and everything to gain.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

Sorry, I just disagree with you guys. A guy like Tim Tebow earns a program more than $160K.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

And what about the rest of themComment

And Tebow made $8.7M by signing his name on a piece of paper last Summer to be a Bronco.
The players good enough to go pro, will make their money in due time. The ones who aren't... won't.
Forget about the fact that not every player is playing football to be the next Tim Tebow. Some of these guys never see the field unless the game is 77-0 in the 4th.. a lot of student athletes are exactly that.. students who are participating in respective schools athletic programs.
Sorry Dave, I agree with you on a lot of sports topics.. but can't agree with you on this one.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment
