Portis sounds familiar...was he a transfer kid? For some reason I'm thinking Maryland :noidea:.

Cards have signed USC's starting center (Dowd I think his name is.) and a couple of Tackles.

Made the rounds because he transferred twice. First from Florida to Maryland, then from Maryland to California University of Pennsylvania. He was also caught cheating on an exam in 2007 and was suspended for a season and played sparingly in 2008.

I like Landry, but it appears the Jags are going to throw a lot of money (too much) at him. The Ravens are known to let free agents who play alongside Lewis and Reed to walk via free agency (Will Demps, Kim Herring, Jim Leonhard, Jamie Sharper, Ed Hartwell, Adalius Thomas, and Bart Scott) and its not as if those guys have been able to maintain their level of play elsewhere, so I'll trust their judgment. Landry struggles to stay healthy and has below average cover skills, so good luck. Overall though he's a good player.

Edgerrin James announces retirement from NFL
Former Seahawks and Colts RB Edgerrin James has announced his retirement from the NFL.
"I've been retired," James confirmed to ProCanes.com, a Miami Hurricanes website. "I'm not playing anymore. That’s the way I wanted it. I wanted to get in, get out, no big thing. I’m on to something else now. Now, I’m a fan." James, 33, spent 11 seasons in the NFL, seven with the Colts. Four times he ran for over 1,500 yards, and he made the Pro Bowl in all of those seasons. Also an elite receiver out of the backfield in his prime, James will leave the game with 15,610 total yards and 91 touchdowns. He's a prime candidate for the Colts' Ring of Honor.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Ravens made free agent G/T Marshal Yanda a contract offer worth roughly $6.5 million a year before the lockout, but Yanda rejected it.

La Canfora calls Yanda the best free agent offensive lineman on the market, and he clearly anticipates making more money than that. It's expected that the Redskins will also pursue Yanda, who is the Ravens' top priority to re-sign. La Canfora suggests Baltimore may have to pay him nearly $8 million a year.

SMH at the Redskins. Unless he's elite you don't pay a guard $8 million a year. The only way it is justified is if they plan to move him to RT, which is his more natural position.
