I wanna see Schwartz convince Tulloch to come play for him again with the Lions, that is if the Titans don't resign him, We really need a LB, Lord knows no one wants to see Bobby Carpenter starting.
Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the New York Jets may have a leg up on the rest of the league in the pursuit of free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
Cimini covered an appearance by ESPN's Chris Mortensen on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike Show. "Asomugha is interesting because the Houston Texans, probably, are going to make him the biggest offer," Mortensen told the Mikes. "Yet you keep hearing that Nnamdi wants to go somewhere where he can begin to focus on his post-playing career, even though he'll give his all as he's playing, and he has a great interest in being an actor, whether it's in theater or whatever, and that could factor into it."
Also, Akers is officially a free agent, Vick said Desean may hold out, and Seattle picks up a D2 QB named Josh Portis.
Linebacker Nick Barnett's time with the Green Bay Packers has apparently come to an end.
"Just met with Ted," Barnett Tweeted this morning, referring to Packers GM Ted Thompson. "Thanks for the great 8 years. Very blessed 2 be apart of such a great tradition and great fans."
ESPN's Andrew Brandt says the Packers will try to trade Barnett, and if there are no takers, he will be released.
Adam Caplan of FOX Sports says the move will save Green Bay about $6.9 million in cap space.
NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that the Titans are preparing a "huge" contract offer for free agent Matt Hasselbeck.
Lombardi's NFLN colleague, Jason La Canfora, is also convinced Hasselbeck is going to the Titans. "He fits what they want to do," says Lombardi. Hasselbeck will be viewed as at least a one-year bridge to No. 8 overall pick Jake Locker, whom GM Mike Reinfeldt and head coach Mike Munchak have both deemed not ready to play right away. The addition of Hasselbeck would bode well for Kenny Britt, Jared Cook, and running back Chris Johnson.
