Good to hear the Niners are making a move for Aso...keep him in the Bay Area.

NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reports free agent Randy Moss has "emerged as an option" for the Jets.
The Jets aren't going to pay big money to both Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards, so Moss is now the favorite on what may be an incentive-laden contract. Coach Rex Ryan and GM Mike Tannenbaum have made no secret of their respect for Moss' skills. Even if Moss is only running a handful of routes at this stage of his career, he's a more dangerous receiver than Plaxico Burress.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that "there has been progress" Wednesday in trade talks between the Cardinals and Eagles involving Kevin Kolb.
CBS Sports' Clark Judge reported something similar just an hour ago. All indications are still that Kolb is Arizona's top target, ahead of Kyle Orton. That should sit just fine with the Dolphins, who are targeting the more proven QB

Kyle Orton is on top of the Dolphins' wish list of quarterbacks, a source tells the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The problem is Orton's contract demands. He's reportedly looking for more than $6 million per season on a long-term deal and the Dolphins may not be willing to make that significant of a commitment. Regardless, the Denver Post, NFL Network and Sun-Sentinel are all calling the Dolphins the favorites to land Orton.

The Giants go from having Adam Koets starting at center coming off an ACL injury...to having a legit starter who's better than Shaun O'Hara coming off a series of leg/foot injuries.

lol, Jets talking with Randy Moss because they consider him a less expensive option than Braylon.

NFL Network's Michelle Beisner reports trade talks between the Broncos and Dolphins are getting "serious," and a deal could be reached within six hours.
Just minutes before, the Miami Herald reported that Orton remained interested in restructuring to stay in Denver, which hardly seems credible. Orton isn't going to accept the long-term No. 2 job behind Tim Tebow when he could land a starting gig elsewhere. Expect to see Orton to the Dolphins in exchange for something in the neighborhood of a third-round pick.

Panthers GM Marty Hurney is meeting personally with DeAngelo Williams on Wednesday in an effort to get the free agent to stay in Carolina.
Hurney is doing the same with LB Thomas Davis, who will be released if the Panthers can't restructure the last year of his contract and sign him for multiple years (at a cheaper rate). Owner Jerry Richardson promises the Panthers will remain aggressive, even after re-signing Charles Johnson for six years and $76 million. "I hope we're going to have DeAngelo," said Richardson.

I don't understand how Santonio Holmes is worth $50M over 5 years. I absolutely understand the Jets wanting him back, but is he really an elite receiver? Is he even top 10?

A good #1 is hard to find in the NFL.

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini calls free agent Braylon Edwards a "good bet" to sign with the Redskins following Santonio Holmes' return to the Jets.
Cimini reported earlier in the week that the Redskins were recruiting both receivers. Unless they overwhelm Edwards with an offer, the 'Skins could receive competition from the loser of the Sidney Rice derby
