I thought it had to do with the NFLPA union recertifying...

so they should be able to start today.

      Google is ur friend

Language in the CBA prohibits players who sign new contracts from practicing with their teams until the start of the new league year. That will not occur until Thursday, August 4th, almost a week after the start of the signing period and the start of all 32 training camps. The rule applies to players re-signing with their old teams as well since they will not be reporting under an existing contract. Teams like the Saints, with 26 free agents, would be affected heavily by this rule as they try to adapt to the condensed offseason timeline.

The opening of the free agency signing period on Friday promises to be one of the most frenzied atmospheres around the league that any of us can remember.

Not a fit for zone defenses? WTF? He's an exact fit for teams that run zones.

Frankly, I think the Eagles should keep Samuel at least this year and use him as a free safety when they're not in nickel packages. The guy is gonna get INTs with Asoughma there. He's an INT machine.

Falcons agree to terms with starting LG Justin Blaylock. Big move for their OL. Kept Clabo and Blaylock and only lost Harvey Dahel.

Great shit. We really needed to get him locked up on that long-term deal. Probably our most consistent offensive lineman over the years.

Dallas signed a free agent named Tysson Poots.

Yes, that is how you spell his name.

              Tysson Poots.

The Bengals have signed Nate Clements.

Bengals signed CB Nate Clements, formerly of the 49ers.
The Bengals have their Johnathan Joseph replacement in a 31-year-old that was cut loose by the 49ers. It wasn't an erosion of skills that got Clements released, but his gargantuan $17 million cap number. He looked to have plenty left in the tank last season, notching 82 tackles and three interceptions as the 49ers' top corner. It's a rare respectable addition for the Bungles
EDIT: Apparently im late on this. I think its a great move tho and surprised there wasnt a bigger market for him.

That must mean Benson isn't going to face a suspension from the league...unless we sign another RB to back him up. I know we resigned Leonard and still have Bernard Scott I believe but still. Thats a big resigning either way

Trent Edwards has been god awful ever since that concussion. Don't like that signing.

And I'm really glad Michael Huff is back. This defense has so much talent. Now that John Marshall is gone and Chuck Bresnahan is back hopefully this defense can do much better than 20th in scoring defense.

NFL.com, meanwhile is reporting that the Raiders are trying to outbid the Jets for free agent cornerback Antonio Cromartie.

He's too small to play safety, but agreed about keeping him.

Makes no sense to move him just to move him. They can wait until next offseason to do that.
