Let's just say I'm not taking him off my fantasy draft board in round 14+.

Has there ever been an athlete in ANY SPORT whose GOAT status was supremely talented, but didn't work hard?

It seems, in all sports, we see a sh!t load of these ridiculously talented guys, and some end up great, but they have a ceiling because they were never as good as "less talented" guys that just have the work ethic that is seemingly mythical.

I think he was consistent enough to say he was more than an overachiever. With more concentration and less cocaine/drug abuse he most likely would have maintained a longer career. I'll just agree to disagree then, as I remember our last argument of "Bullet" Bob Hayes, you don't like him very much. I remember you saying he'll never make the HOF...low and behold, one year after that conversation...Bob's in. :noidea:
I'm actually the one defending Bob Hayes here. He was a sprinter from a small black college (Florida A&M, IIRC) who did well in the NFL. He was a speed guy, and he did fine until he turned 30. This happens a lot with speed guys. I've read that his drug abuse didn't start until after the Cowboys released him, and his career was pretty much over already at that point.

The HOF has allowed some EXTREMELY questionable players in the last few years, like Floyd Little and Dick LeBeau.

I don't think we've seen the last of him, but I'll play along and say what others have said....supremely talented, has the career statistics, but surely apathetic with a questionable work ethic. I'd like to think a guy like Moss wouldn't have the stats and accolades by pure ability, so he had to of had some sort of work ethic.

Moss is the only athlete I've ever seen that seemed to be above people criticizing him for his work ethic. We all know he's quit on plays, on his teammates and not always give full effort, yet people still believe in him....its strange, because typically fans hate guys like this.

The most dangerous offensive weapon in the history of the NFL? I'm in an airplane right now so I can't get too in depth but Moss improved every offense he was on dramatically, I don't think any single player changed an offense's production single handedly like he did. Unless the old guys here know of someone I don't.

Kinda sad, this might be a reason why the Jets took Plax over Moss, because he hinted he might retire unless he gets x amount.

No, I'm talking about any offensive player. I will provide stats later but nobody impacted points and yards per game like Moss did for a team.
