How do you not see anything on that list that looks woefully ridiculous?

Because he actually understands the game of football and doesn't just watch NFL Network and spew the same shit they say.

Who is terribly out of place?

Nobody on that list is reasonably more than one level wrong based on last seasons performance. There are no major gripes there.

There is pretty extensive play by play data available going back several decades. Anything pre-1960 is pretty hard to compare anyway, which is where you would run into missing data.

I'd agree that Rivers should be in the top level. He's proven he's one of the elite QBs. Eli is up there but he's not quite on that elite level.

Eli played more his first two seasons than Rivers so let's compare them from Year 3 (2006-07) to last season:

Both men started every single game over the stretch, never missing a game.

Eli: About 1500 Completions in 2600 Attempts
Philip: 1547 completions in 2425 Attempts

            Eli: 126 TD // 87 INT
            Phillip: 135 TD // 57 INT

Do you people not understand that this is based on statistics from last season, and last season only? Did anyone read the OP, or did everyone just immediately skim the ranking tiers and ignore what it was based on?

I'm not brushing it off until we see the formula.

It could be an eye opener, like OPS+ in baseball, or it could be fuzzy math bullshit like the new NBA metrics.

Kerry Collins shouldn't even be a candidate for the list.
