Oh okay.
Kurt Warner wins, because of the talent around him. Drew Brees loses because Purdue, San Diego and New Orleans held him back? I've never heard that reasoning before.
Now that I think about it.... Well, Drew Brees still barely breaks my top 10. But at least I now understand the reason behind the guy's continued failure.
Great conversation, guys.Last edited by Saluki; 02-25-2009, 02:59 AM.Comment

Oh, lol, wait a minute - He did take take team to the super bowl.
Like I said, your reasoning is more than sufficient. The NFL holds Drew Brees back.
Thanks again.Comment

Yeah. We all know how unlikely it is for Kurt Warner to take one of the worst teams in the NFL to the super bowl, with the 32nd rank rush offense and the 19th ranked defense (who only gave up 8 yards less per game than New Orleans.)

I'd agree with Warner above Brees this season. But there's no way u can't have Brees in your top 10 with what he did this season and what little he did it with.Comment

Lol i was just looking at the stats, and i didn't even realize that Brees threw for 5000 with Colston only playing 11 games, and no New Orleans WR getting to 1000 yards. That's fucking nuts, i might have to move him up on my list.Comment

You seem to forget the fact the even though he didn't have a running game he had TWO Pro-Bowl WRs and a slot WR who could start on most teams. I'm not taking anything away from Warner, but the Cardinals are a much better team than the saints were this season, especially with all the injuries NO had.

New Orleans - 23rd ranked defense.
Arizona - 4th ranked offense.
Arizona - 19th ranked defense (Only gave up 8 yards less than NO per game.)
Nah. Arizona is not a ''much better'' team overall.
Oh, and Drew Brees is on my top 10. My argument is, he isn't top 3 - even with your conspiracy theory about every team and player holding back Drew Brees.
We can move on, though.Comment

Even Marino, who put up GODLY numbers year after year couldn't do it all for his team, someone else has to step up at some point, a QB can only do so much. Just like in the playoffs, the Cards run game and D stepped up in a BIG way. No way they would have made the superbowl if they played like they were playing in the regular season. True Cards and Saints had similar reg seasons, and Warner and Brees had similar seasons, the diff is Arizona stepped it up when they had too, and New Orleans didn't. That has nothing to do with how good or bad the QB is.Comment

i spit these same numbers at him a while back.. here in a minute he will revert back to his playoff record argument...

Answer: Fuck no.
Let's rewind... The guy is 0-18 when trailing after the 3rd quarter.
Week 10 vs. Atlanta - 3 interceptions, one of which was returned for a TD = loss.
Week 13 vs. Tampa Bay - 3 Interceptions, 2 in the fourth quarter = Loss.
That's just two examples of a career full of late game fuck ups. If you want them all, I have them all in memory, because, well, I love bashing the fuck out of Drew Brees, so I like to stock up on ammo, if/when I ever find a person/persons who actually consider this fucker a clutch performer. then again, it's the NFL holding him back, right? Right!
Look me up via PM, if you want.Comment

My point is, did Drew Brees really ''step it up'' when he had to?

One i NEVER said the NFL was holding brees back, because i don't think he's been held back. All i said was that the Cards have better Weapons than the saints. And the Rams Warner played for has WAAAY better Weapons than the Chargers Brees played for, i'm done tho because your personal vendetta against brees makes this pointless.
I get goosebumps just thinking about it.Comment

Meh, i could really care less about Brees or Warner. Once the season starts, if they arn't playin the bears they can do as good or bad as they wanna lolComment
