As a Pac 12 fan and someone who hasn't really followed Rich Rod is there anything good about this hire?
Dirty Mexican that coached at WVU hired at Arizona for some reason

What he does would be perfect for Arizona who is in dire need of something different so that they can compete with the rest of the Pac12, they are falling behind at rapid speed.Comment

I don't mind this hire. I disliked the type of program Rich Rod ran at WVU and Michigan, but, for all his faults at Michigan, his offense did work. I guess we'll see if Rich Rod has learned from his mistakes at UM, such as ignoring the talent on hand and hiring terrible coordinators, but I think he'll be given free rein in Tuscon to bring whatever type of player needs to be brought in.Comment

As long as he doesn't force a 3-3-5 defense like he did at Michigan, he should be fine. He didn't have the personnel or the experienced coordinators for it in Ann Arbor, but he wanted to force the whole square peg-round hole issue.Comment

Yeah it is bizarre. He went from turning down Alabama to taking a gig at a place that has had two double-digit wins since 1899.Comment

Look at the defense last year. Look at it now. Mostly the same personnel, up about 90 spots in the ratings.UglyChristmasLights.com - Celebrating 10 years with the 2011 collection!Comment

With the game this Saturday, I just said to someone today that I wished richrod was still coaching that team up north, would increase our chances of winning.Comment

At least the thread title doesn't say that he coached at Michigan. He, um... really didn't do much of that. I will say that Denard Robinson is probably more suited to his offense than Hoke's However, there's no way in hell Toussaint would be having the year that he's having under RichRod, so the offense would be completely one dimensional.

I heard that when Rich Rod brought all his assistants to Michigan from WVU, they didn't fit in with the button-up, prep environment of Ann Arbor. Rodriguez's assistants were a bunch of hillbillies who chewed tobacco and wore jeans all the time. They were despised by everyone on campus.Comment

If RichRod can bring Zona to 8-4 most years with the occasional 10-2 and a shot at the Pac12 title every so often, they'd be plenty happy.Comment
