Sound like my buddy a couple years ago taking Tom Brady with the 1st pick...then he tears his ACL in the first game.

ACL and MCL tear on the last week of the season and he'll be fine for 2012? Yeah, right.

If there isn't any complications... yes, he should be. Look at the history of these injuries. Unless there are complications after surgery, there shouldn't be any reason he shouldn't be suited up and ready to go by week 1 of next season.

ACL tears usually take up to 8-9 months. Depends on how well his body recuperates for a specific time. But theoretically, he could be okay by week 1. Unless he has a setback in which he may not be ready until week 5.

They can take anywhere from 6-9 months and he has a little over 8.

I'm sure he'll suit up by week 1 but RB's that suffer ACL tears almost never return to previous form. AP is still young and I think he might be an exception to this but we'll have to wait and see.

You guys honestly don't think AP will be suited up for week 1? You think that it's that outrageous, really? Quote me then lol. He'll be on the field for the Vikings first regular season game.

Tough break but ACL tears aren't what they used to be. Recovery time is shorter and the player actually comes back stronger in many cases.

Peterson is young enough to where I don't think this will slow him down any.

Hmmm...don't know about this. Recovery is shorter than it used to be and I can see him playing week 1. Still, I don't know that he'll be the same old AD for a while though. I might be someone but I can't remember any backs tearing an ACL and regaining that same burst they once had down the road.

Yeah I'm not sure any RB has tore his ACL and been able to put up the same numbers.

With all of the advancements in ACL surgery and AD's Jerry Rice'esque work ethic, I could see him back by week 1 of next season but I also think it takes even AD a full season to get completely back to speed.
