Nobody would bitch and moan if Alabama got to play LSU after they both ran through a playoff. That is the entire problem, there is no playoff. People are bitching now because Alabama got a rematch based on polls with funky equations and human bias. They didn't beat LSU the first time, they didn't win their conference, they didn't even win their God damn division.

Give me a playoff and if there is a rematch in the title game, nobody will care. Even though the end result might be the same, the two scenarios are total opposites of each other.

Say this year we had a playoff, and Oregon beat LSU in the title game. Oregon would still have more losses, and lesser SOS, and the H2H series is split.

Do you not see how people could still vote for LSU in that scenario, just like people would vote for LSU regardless now?
Look at CBB and tell me if you still think thats a possibility...

Terrible example, polls are thrown out once the tournament begins.

No, the voting doesnt determine who the champion is.

I dread reading through this whole thread, but it appears that zoneblitz doesn't understand the difference between 1) Alabama and LSU going through a multiple-team tournament to reach the national title game and then having Alabama win, and 2) LSU beating Alabama at Alabama during the regular season, then having Alabama hand-picked to participate in the national title game and winning.

In the old Wimbledon tennis tournament, they would automatically placed last-year's tournament winner in the Final, and then everyone else would play through the actual tournament portion to see who would face the defending champion in the Final. So, to repeat as the Wimbledon champion in the old days, you had to win one match. Not really as impressive as a current player having to prove himself from square one every year. Alabama is kind of the same way...they didn't do anything to deserve a spot in the national title game...it just kind of happened.

Nor does it in CFB. It determines who plays in the NC game, not the NC.

Yes it does, the AP poll crowns a champion, independant from the BCS champ. Thats what this thread was completely about.

And we've been telling you that you are wrong..because so far..no one has agreed with you...or even come close to doing so in fact..as we've pointed out the actual way that the rematch came about is the EXACT REASON no one would have a problem with the rematch OR the winner!

                                Holy shit.

If people don't care about the rematch occuring because of the playoff there would be no possible logical way they would have an issue with the winner of the game that resulted from that playoff rematch scenario.

                                Derp derp derp

You're essentially arguing that people woudn't care that there was a rematch because it was a result of the playoff..yet all of a suddent after the game they'd have a problem with the result of the rematch..... :whut:

People would know the possible results BEFORE the game so if there was an issue with it they'd bring it up beforehand..not after.
