Ah, so every other trade is "stupid". Ok.

Comparing trades of SIMILAR PLAYERS is the only way to gauge value.

    You can't be that thick.

True, but this is VSD, where rumor is FACT.

      Try to keep up, canuck.

The trades you have mentioned are stupid and shouldnt be the barometer.

How about comparing trades OF THE SAME PLAYER.

Miami gave up two 2nd round picks to get Marshall, when Denver HAD to get rid of him. They got two 3rd round picks in return for Marshall.

Marshall was also coming off of much better season with much better production when Miami acquired him.

And for the record, I thought that was a bad trade for Miami at the time, and I ripped it at whatever site we were at, because i've never thought much of Marshall.

Turns out I was right. He wasn't worth it. And i'll be right again about this one.

Miami overpaid. Nobody was giving up two 2nd rounders for Marshall this time around. Two thirds? Good deal.

Liking it for both sides. Wonder how Cutler2Marshall will work out now, I'm not sure, but didn't both of them smack talk the other after they were traded away from the Broncos?

              Ravens got Anquan Boldin for a 3rd & 5th.

Let me guess, Zoneblitz, "stoopid trade!"

Miami looking better and better here.

                Incorrect info.

On March 5, 2010 Boldin was traded to the Baltimore Ravens for the Ravens third, fourth and fifth round picks in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Marshall was at least special before McDaniels got to him, Lloyd was hot garbage before he got to Denver.
The point is not to dissect Marshall vs Lloyd, the point is that no matter who we look at in terms of recently traded WR's, Lloyd, Holmes, Moss, Boldin, take your pick, all guys of similar overall ability and value, and none of them netted two third round picks in return.

You could reasonably argue (you might not win, but you wont look foolish) that Marshall is anywhere from 1st-4th best on that list, yet he overwhelmingly netted the largest return.

                  Miami did fine.

                        1) The value is about the same.

                        2) I wasnt debating whether it was more or less value, just pointing out that your example was bullshit.

1.) The value is not the same

2.) And I was wrong...but so were you!

The Cardinals sent Boldin and a fifth-round pick in this year's draft to Baltimore in exchange for the Ravens' third- and fourth-round selections. Before the deal was consummated, Boldin had reached agreement with the Ravens on a three-year contract extension worth $25 million in new money.
So not only did the Cards get less (3rd & 4th) than the Dolphins got, but they also gave up a pick!

                          L-O-L

Again, Miami looking better and better here.

Meanwhile we had a beast behind him in Demaryius Thomas who was more than willing to do things that piece of garbage wasn't.

It was a necessary move for the whole of the roster to get along.
ZoneBlitz thinks all of these decent WR's are worth 2nd rounders or more apparently, because he thinks every trade involving these guys is "stupid".

He has no concept of the value of the trade value of WR's in the NFL.

Who cares? Marshall is worth more than Boldin, and Miami had more leverage than Arizona had.
