Even if he can come back for the 2012 season, his speed/agility will likely be greatly affected by this...spot duty at best. I say he doesn't play this year.
Terrell Suggs Tore his Achilles. Assume out for the year.

I play basketball with Marvin Mitchell who is a backup linebacker for the Dolphins. I have always wondered why these guys play basketball in the off season, but I suspect it for the love of the game, stay in shape, and because they don't think it will happen to them. Losing Suggs hurts ALOT.....he's easily our best defensive player. the DPOY will be missed.Comment

Some of them are even crazy enough to drive in Walmart parking lots !!
J.K Accidents happen.
But this instantaneously reduces Ravens playoff chances and is another year wasted. Ray Ray can hit a wall at anytime , Reed always misses games , I dont think they improved enough to ovecome a major loss like this.
Sucks. A good Ravens team is a fun team to watch.Best reason to have a license.

What a bummer. Easily one of my favorite players in the league.
Basketball is so rough on your ligaments and tendons, I don't get why anybody over the age of 30 that doesn't play it regularly even goes out to play it.
I'll have to check up on stats, but I remember reading that basketball leads to more ankle and knee related injuries than any other sport. The constant jumping and cutting is extremely hard on your body.Comment

I wonder of Osi could play OLB in a 3-4, I'd think the Ravens could at least use him in passing situations to get some pressure. I don't know if he fits into their cap situation tho,Comment

I'm sure they could find a use for him, and I think the Ravens are a likely destination. Give him an extension and reduce the cap hit for this season.Comment

Also, IMO, Suggs pass rush is not what is going to be missed the most, it's his play against the run. We already lost Jarrett Johnson in FA, who was a tremendous run defender outside. I'm way more concerned with the run defense at this point than I am the pass rush. With Ray Lewis' advanced age and inability to go sideline to sideline anymore, Suggs/JJ setting the edge and not letting guys break runs outside was incredibly important. They now will not have either of those guys in 2012 - if Suggs does come back, it'll almost certainly be as a third down guy and not much more.
I think Upshaw can provide some of that at one of the spots, but we really do not have anyone else...Kruger is a good pass rusher, but small and ineffective against the run so far in his career. The same can be said of McPhee. Sergio Kindle is a wildcard. Dude was pretty good coming out of college but thanks to being an idiot he's barely seen the field his first two years. Maybe he can provide something for us this year. I doubt the Ravens would move on Osi even if they had the room, that's not the kind of move they usually make.Comment
