Martin is a pawn. Guy couldn't even stick up for himself, how is he gonna stick up for someone else and make himself an even bigger target.

I've heard a couple people that knew Martin in HS call in on the local Bay Area radio and talk about how Martin was basically a big nice teddy bear. He is one of those guys. Obviously, a great athlete and smart.

The only thing you guys are doing is making me feel ba little etter about picking on kids in high school. Maybe you're right, it is probably that dorks fault. He never tried to fight me. He obviously deserved it.

Didn't I hear someone say that both of Martin's parents are attorneys? That could be a reasonable explanation for the way this was handled after Martin left the team. They are trying to spin it as someone else's fault so that they can cash in.

I said this a couple times so far in my implications. Ricky Williams basically implied it in his interview yesterday too (Martin isn't cut out for the NFL and in looking for an easy way out he has found himself a scapegoat).

Jonathan Martin's father, grandfather, great-grandfather and mother all attended Harvard. Jonathan was also accepted there but went to Stanford instead because of football (who says "who you know" or lineage doesn't get you put ahead on a list to get into a college over someone else?). His Mother and Father are both lawyers. Martin has not addressed any media, or made a written statement, since disappearing the Monday after the New England game (in which he played terrible again, and was criticized).

I thought that I read that his Mom worked for Toyota (as a corporate lawyer) and his dad was the dean of a law school? I don't see where that equals "here come the lawyers, trying to spin everything and cash in".

I understand the people that this situation bothers and how bizarre it is, but I think it's entirely likely that his PARENTS just automatically took his side. I highly doubt this is some crazy conspiracy from that respect.

You must be high. The company that I work for has over 1,000 attorneys on staff and we sue other businesses all of the time. Corporate lawyers sue other corporations and tie up their competitors in court to further the goals of the companies they represent. Law school deans were practicing lawyers that did the same thing before they found out they weren't good at it and decided to teach.
