Ever since Broncos coach John Fox suffered a spell of dizziness on a golf course in Charlotte early this month and then had to undergo heart surgery, he's made it clear that he wants to return to his job before the end of the season.
That's exactly what will happen, as the team announced that Fox will return to the team next week. Foxsports.com was the first to report the news and also says Fox will be ready to coach the team's Week 14 contest vs. the Titans.
From the Broncos:
John Fox has been cleared by doctors to return as head coach of the Denver Broncos beginning Monday. We are very pleased that his recovery from a heart procedure on Nov. 4 has progressed so well.
Our organization is confident that his health will allow him to meet his head coaching responsibilities. While no formal restrictions will be placed on his workload upon return, he will continue to be monitored by our medical staff as his well-being remains our No. 1 priority.
“We look forward to Coach Fox's return to the team on Monday.”
It's unclear whether Fox will coach from the sidelines or the from the booth (when Texans coach Gary Kubiak returned to his team following his recent health scare, he coached from the booth).
"I'm very, very healthy," Fox said earlier this month. "I was out [of the hospital] in four [days]. So, this isn't due to poor lifestyle, not being healthy, too much stress, not enough stress. This is basically something I was born with that I needed fixed. I think the quick recovery speaks to what great shape I'm in."
Earlier this week, Fox flew from Charlotte to Denver on Broncos owner Pat Bowlen's private jet.
Since Fox has been out, defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio has taken over as the interim, and under his leadership, Denver has gone 2-1 and has taken over first place in the AFC West.
