    Knowshon Moreno to Dolphins

More than two weeks into free agency, one of the best young running backs finally found a home. Broncos' 2010 first-round pick Knowshon Moreno signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

While players like Ben Tate, Rashad Jennings, Toby Gerhart and Donald Brown signed multi-year contracts, a market never developed for Moreno.

Now he'll join a Dolphins team that has been busy adding warm bodies for a second straight offseason. Coming off a disappointing 8-8 season, Miami has also signed left tackle Branden Albert, safety Louis Delmas, cornerback Cortland Finnegan, nose tackle Earl Mitchell and guard Shelley Smith (and they re-signed cornerback Brent Grimes and defensive lineman Randy Starks.)

Moreno had his best NFL season in 2013, rushing for 1,038 yards (4.3 YPC) with 10 TDs, as well as 548 receiving yards (60 receptions) and 3 TDs. He ranked sixth in Football Outsiders' running back efficiency metric, just behind Marshawn Lynch. Of course, some of that success had to do with playing in Peyton Manning's offense. The fact that there was little interest on the open market -- and that the running back position is obsolescent -- suggests that teams aren't convinced he can replicate that production elsewhere.

Either way, these are tears of joy.
