Leopold wasn't resigning with the Flames, as they couldn't come to an agreement on his contract, so that is why he was sent in the deal for Jay. If the Flames get him signed, they probably have the best defence in the league. Add Kipper and the offence they have, I smell a new dark horse in the West.

The rumor is that this move was to clear enough salary for the NYR to get Komisarek or Heatley.

So I'm expecting one of those two to be Rangers in the next 24 hours.



Latest rumors I just read is that Heatley to NYR is already done and that Gomez may not be staying in Montreal. Not sure how much weight I'd put into that though.

I'm shocked that the Gomez deal included Ryan McDonagh (one of those scrubs killgod suggested).

He was the Habs #1 prospect. 1st round D-man.
