Penguins > all nhl
12 in a row, Crosby on 18 game streak now.
I think Crosby just finally said "fuck it, I don't need a winger to play with".
Crosby has 5 points less then the top 3 Canadien's combinedAll you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
"rammer" and "cummings"
The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.Comment

Even my buddy who went to the game said the leaf fans were louder and he's a habs fan.
I know cbc's audio was really messed up but are you tone deft or something?

As far as the leafs and bottom feeders I just don't know wtf this team wants to be.
They play like absolute garbage some nights and sometimes go periods and games playing the worst hockey imaginable. Then they do things like they just did this past week going 3-2 against the top 5 teams in the east in the past 5 games. They played like shit against pitts and philly and 2/3 of the wash game but then dominate boston montreal and the last period of the wash game.
I wish they would fire wilson because his throw players into a hat and pick out the lines routine is getting really old quickly. I will say though the leafs have lost at least 3 or 4 games this year due to his horrible coaching especially at the end of games.

Don't expect Crosby's point streak to end Tuesday vs. the Flyers, MFer just about always gets at least one point against them.Comment

Leaf fans don't go to games because they can't, who you trying to fool?
I've seen louder cheers for the Leafs at house parties with the game on TV than I have at the ACC. The Blue Jays fans are more fun to be around than those suits at the ACC, i mean it just blows my mind that anyone would pay those prices to go to that place regularly. Beauty of a building, but fucking lol at that atmosphere.Comment

I dunno man, the ACC is a fucking tomb compared to the other arenas I've been to (Scotiabank and HSBC).

Gotta love how Leaf pride has completely bitten them in the ass. If they only stfu and just tanked the previous 4 years, some of those emerging superstars might be wearing blue n white.
Instead you got Kadri and Schenn. lolllllll
Just for fun, looking back now.
06, you got Tlusty, a lil more tanking could have landed you Kessel, Backstrom or Toews. Woulda been much cheaper to get Kessel eh?
07, you traded your first for Vesa LOLskala, who then became Lars Eller via another trade to St Louis. San Jose acquired this year's Calder front runner Logan Couture. LOL. Pacioretty and Subban landed in Montreal after that, lol. A solid tanking and lack of trading for LOLskala could have landed you a Couture straight up, or that Sutter kid in Carolina, who's also a Calder candidate this year.
There's some hilarious history to dig into.Comment

Nah I haven't, probably a good place to go troll for a while now.

The leafs over the last 10 years have been lol funny when it comes to how poorly the organization has been run. Richard peddie and the whole "MLSE" brand is the main problem. It was pretty funny when the rumour was going around that he was stepping down a few months how everyone cheered and there was an even bigger cheer when the rumour of rogers buying out the teachers pension portion of it was going around.
They constantly have been bringing in GMs that have been going on the "win now" routine which in this cap world doesn't work (hell it barely worked before the cap came in).
I actually made a post about the last 10+ years or so in this thread somewhere of some of the simply hilarious and terrible trades and moves the leafs have done over the years. The couture thing I mentioned a while back which again is funny.
The only real glimmer of hope right now is that this current leafs team is the youngest in the league and they do have some decent prospects. The marlies are playing well and are on a playoff pace (I can't tell you the last time they made it to the playoffs). Outside of the kings they might have the best goalie depth in terms of young talent in the league although most of them are a year or two away.
Luke Schenn is a boss btw. If they trade him away I will most likely stop following the leafs and go pick some other team to follow.

How is it even their problem anymore. Peddie doesn't decide who suits up or who plays on what line. Used to be like that, but apparently not while Burke's been here, it's all on him now from what I can see. However, when it was like that, they DID have success, their early 2000's teams did make some decent charges into the playoffs. It just took them too long to connect the dots between that method and the new NHL.....and it not working.
I was mostly excited that Rogers could take their income from TML, and instead of investing into fucking real estate and getting fat pockets, they could funnel that coin into TFC and the Blue Jays.
FYI - The Marlies made the Western Final 2 years ago, I went to one of the games. Justin Pogge lead the charge, doesn't say much now does it?
Never meant to suggest Schenn was a bad player or pick, but there was certainly a handful of better selections in that first round, which could easily have been Toronto's.Comment

I don't see how MLSE or the OTPP really has any impact on the success of the hockey team these days. They will spend to the max, they let Burke do what he wants.

I will say though I totally forgot about the marlies from a few years back, mainly because they either haven't made it or got bitch slapped in the first round.
