At that price, any team even with a goal would be stupid to not sign him just so the wings don't get him. A bunch of teams in the west have cap space who could take it on for a year. Dallas, Nashville, Colorado and Phoenix could all take him on cap wise and just have him as a backup if needed. Even some East teams could use him as a back up for a quick fix.
At this point though, if I am a team in the west with any cap, I'm picking him up just so the wings don't get him. Not like I am saying with him they win the cup, but do you really want to take that risk. Better then enemy you know then the one you don't.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
He goes on waivers at noon today and we'll find out by sat. if he gets claimed.
Really it all comes down to who wants to really piss off the red wings. The Islanders really don't seem that obvious of a choice since I don't see what claiming a goalie who won't resign is going to do for them.
Columbus and Ottawa seem like really the only two who could use it.
p.s. Fat Welly looks alright during last night's 2-1 Sharks win in Vancouver. Fuckin Buffalo and Tampa Bay spoiled my perfect picks ticket. Those damn faggots.
Sadly in the back of my head I was thinking the Devils and just didn't post it because what use would they have with a goal for 1 year. Then I remembered this in New Jersey, and nothing they do makes sense contract/money wise.
I really think Dallas would be smart to look into this. Not a starting roll, but back up. Don't know how much you trust Raycroft. Really any of those 5-10th place teams in the west I could see it.
Another team that stands out could be Buffalo. 7 points out of the playoffs and Miller cannot keep a pace of playing every game for them to win. They could use a strong back up, and they do have the cap space for it.
But watch some bottom feeder team try and sign him. Devils I could see doing it if they think Marty is done soon and want to sign him as their new starter for next season. Only thing that makes sense with that move.

Also apparently it has been confirmed that Quebec City is going to build a new NHL arena.
And apparerntly the shit with the Devils had brought the tin foil hats out, as people are thinking this is an inside job, because why would a last place team want a new goal now. People think they will claim him, wait a week, then put him on waivers and Detroit gets him back.

I believe this is been ruled as false, because if you claim someone off waivers mid season they must stay on your NHL roster, thus you can't put them on waivers.
