I'll wager he doesn't play till April at the earliest. A game or two to get his legs before the playoffs....

Sharks with another W last night. :D

Now brace yourselves, I'm about to talk about something that may be hard to comprehend for some of you. I'm calling out...my own team.

Dany Heatley is a fuckin schmuck.

I don't like the guy, never really have. He's a disrespectful ego driven cock monger, we all know this. I cheer on my team, so thus I cheer him on...but he's a fuck.

Last night, Steve Ott and him were having it out throughout the game. In the 3rd period, away from the play, Heatley skates by and just throws his elbow up off Ott's chin and knocks him dizzy for a few. Ott ends up being okay and the PP (Which at the time was 4-3 Sharks with 4 mins to go) didn't cost us, but what kind of fuckery is this?

This is the problem with the NHL, zero respect and dirty non hockey actions like that. It was a blatant intent to injure and although ended up being a minor situation I wish the NHL would suspend him a couple games.

        Fucking terrible.

Maybe you should watch some more west coast games lol. Steve Ott is a faggot on Sean Avery's level. If he were to go out with a long term injury I'm sure no one would care.

Steve Ott is a total douche, no doubt. To be honest I don't care that he was the one that took the shot either.

Point is, that shit is fuckin classless dirt that doesn't belong in the NHL.

Wanna hurt a guy? Drop your gloves and punch him in the face. Don't blindside elbow him with giant plastic padding to the chin like a fucking pussy.

Yah but this shit has been around forever and you're not going to change 50+ years of this type of thinking by giving some guys suspensions. What needs to be eliminated is the agitater bitch role like avery and ott. They constantly attempt to injure but get nothing out of it and that probably drives me nuts more then anything else.

I do kinda laugh when people suggest players these days have lack of respect for their other player. I guess we all forget 20 to 30 years ago when we had bench clear brawls, players using their sticks as weapons and constant head hunting was the norm.

lol @ the elbowing thing to. Another move made famous by another all star. Maybe you've heard of him.

Yeah but Gordie Howe didn't have a "weapon" attached to his elbow.

Game's changed, equipment's changed, it's not the same as it was. There's no longer room in the NHL for violent attempts at injuring a player away from the play IMO. There was nothing hockey about what Heatley did, although many Howe elbows had to do with him actually playing hockey.

I'm just saying its the culture of hockey and the whole you do something to me I do something to you mentallity is pretty much the problem. They elimate the people being the agitators they elimate the bitch side of hockey which I dislike.

The problem is agitation works way to well and some can argue that its a needed part of the game.

The game is in an odd state. Its got to the point where everything is way to fast and players are feeling it. It looks like after the gm meetings that more neutral zone interference might be coming back and more holding will come in to help people not get slammed into the boards. It'll be interesting to see if and when they bring in no touch icing as well.

As far as Howe I think I remember reading that 50% of his "hits" would of been penalties these days. His elbow was a weapon to most lol.

Then there is staged fights and the fight the guy after he hit a guy clean fight....

                    Does anyone like those anymore?

I dislike both those fighting situations. I don't really care for fighting much, not that I would want it to be removed, but hockey fights don't seem to be as great as they once were.

Too much wresslin, not enough punchin.

You sit through a commercial break, then watch some fuddy linesman kick 3 guys out of the draw....then play FINALLY resumes...to be stopped by two scrubs who wanna wrestle....then another set of commercials. Terrible.

I actually think there should be penalties for guys who start scrums over clean hits, it's FUCKIN IRRITATING to have play stopped every time there's a hit someone doesn't like. Fucking gay.

Irritating is too nice of a word in this case. It's like if anyone lays a nice hit it has to be a fight. We got that from people who would hit Gretzky and then a fight would happen, but I'm sorry, your 2nd-3rd line guys are not the great one and don't warrant a fight just because so-and-so laid a CLEAN HOCKEY HIT. Well unless you're a frenchie because they would fight you and call the cops on you for a delay of game.

I think they should almost consider putting the red line back in and two line pass. We keep talking about how the game is to fast and this and that, well, the red line does help to slow the game down. The stretch passes that lead to a lot of head shots/cross ice zonkers is caused by the red line being a fancy strip on ice. If you take it away, guys will have to let up a little and keep before the blue line. You can't get way behind the defence anymore, thus it does slow the game down a little.

I'm not saying I hate the fast pace game, because obviously it’s the best version. But its an option. If you are not going to change equipment so they are not wearing suits of armour, and you're not going to get rid of the instigator rule to help police some of this shit, then you need to slow the game down. Putting the red line back in will help just a tad.

Though if they add that back in, in NHL games I'm totally fucked
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

The NHL made it clear they like to judge intent as to what gets you suspended.

He intended to fuckin hurt a guy, so go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars.
