More than deserved. Thought he should have got 2. Nonetheless, a huge a blow to LA because he is a monster at faceoffs.Comment

One is enough. That wasn't two worthy. First time, and he isn't a repeat offender, or any offender really. Was basically a "we had to give you something" suspension. All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

But anyway, doesn't matter, I'm happy with the 1 game suspension.Comment

Who knows what constitutes as "one worthy" or "two worthy." Joe Thornton got a 2 game suspension for a hit earlier this year that wasn't nearly as bad as Stoll's and Raffi Torres just got suspended for 4 games for a hit that was far less severe as well.
But anyway, doesn't matter, I'm happy with the 1 game suspension.
I dont have an issue with that though. Unless it is so massive, like a Matt Cooke cheap shot, one game is good enough for me on any team. You don't want to cost a team a series by handing out a shit load of games.
Although I am going to add, I am sick of seeing defencemen not turning to the damn boards. Pisses me off to see people turn their back to the play and not get ready. We were taught early in our house league play that you don't stand in no mans land (few feet from the boards) because that is where you get killed. You get up against the boards. But everyones new reaction is to turn around. All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

After watching the Canucks pretty much dominate the Hawks for the first two games, I have little doubt in my mind that they are going to win it all this year barring any more injuries.
They are just better than everyone else. A much more complete team all around. Maybe if Ian White didn't get hurt I'd say the Sharks had a chance, but with White out the Sharks aren't getting past them.Comment

They just look to be playing faster and more physical than everyone else. Washington has looked pretty good as well. It'll be fun to see what happens because anything can happen but if I had to put money on it I'd say Nucks/Washington final with Vancouver winning.Comment

This years cup is Vancouvers to lose. You can go up and down every team in the playoffs and say "they are missing this, they are weak here." Vancouver was what before the playoffs? A third line centre, which looking now, actually is filled by Lapiere who is doing good.
Now it is only 2 games in, and Vancouver has that choke effect always on their side. But I think mentally, playing Chicago in round one was what they needed, and probably the worst thing for any other team in the West. Once they beat them, all the talk about not getting by is done. They will most likely play Nashville or Anaheim if an upset doesn't happen in the other two, and I don't see any way either of those two beat Vancouver right now.All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

Weve got them right where we want them... :redsmug:
No but seriously, i disagree with the dominating part. I agree, this year Vancouver is better no doubt. But I think them dominating is a bit much. I think Chicago is playing awful right now. How many more times are they going to keep crashing the D forward letting Vancouver have odd man rushes? I mean, at this rate, Vancouver is promised at least 2 breakaways, and 3 2v1's.
That combined with nobody shooting, it took them almost 8 minutes last night just to get a damn shot off. Kane is getting pwned right now, their puck possession is shitty...Dont know how many times the simplest passes are being mis-handled.
And then there's Luongo, who showed last night, let one in, and more will follow. Maybe going home will be huge, but it wont matter if they dont start playing better.Comment

With Kane, the issue is they play him so much and you know he is the go to guy, so they are just going to cover him and not let him shoot. The Hawks lack of depth like last year will hurt the top line because they are expected to do more, and well, you just make sure you have the right people out there when they are on the ice to stop them.
You can go back and forth on are they dominating or not depending on who is talking. I think they are. They showed a lot of it last night. Does that mean goals won't go in? Well, no, this is the NHL it happens. But there play is greatly overplaying the Hawks right now. They are getting their chances, but with Louongo standing on his head in game 1, and being solid in game 2, they need to find more ways.
You cannot play bad against this team and expect to get a victory. I think people have overhyped Chicago this season. Got to still remember they just made it into the playoffs. From Cup champions to final day playoff spot is a big fall and you are seeing it now.
The Hawks need someone like Hossa or Frolik or some of their blue liners to start putting in some goals and take the pressure of Kane, Toews and Sharp. Or maybe its time to shift the lines up and get those three apart. Spread the wealth so-to-say and see what happens. Because double/triple shifting Toews/Kane/Sharp is not working. Between the three of them, they have 1 assist. All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
