Yep. Zetterberg wasn't noticeable in that game at all, which is fine with me. It was a Knee Ligament injury I believe, which would explain everything.
You love to give guys like Wallin and Murray shit for their play, but I thought both played very strong games in game 1. Murray especially, his stick checking ability is very underrated.
Wallin played a solid game in game 1, I just don't want him on datsyuk. He's playing really well today as well. I never give Murray shit about anything, he always brings it.

What do they shark fans say before the anthem is sung.
A guy in the section behind the away goaltender yells, "hey Howard!" and everyone in that section yells back, "you suck!!"
Gamely tradition for many years now. A while ago the guy would yell out "hey howard!!" about halfway through the game and everyone would yell "you still suck!!" but I don't think they do that anymore.
Detroit has looked pretty unimpressive so far. When it is 5 on 5, all they do is chip it in, start to get a cycle going and eventually just flick something to the net from the point or look for someone to get free in the slot. They've only managed 1 goal at even strength in the series so far.
The Sharks did a great job of clogging up the neutral zone to prevent the Wings from skating in at full speed and it really fucked the Wings up today.
Honestly, the only guys that scare me out there are Datsyuk and Z, and Z is not 100%. Nobody else on the Wings poses a serious threat when the puck is around them.
I think the Sharks are built perfectly to handle a team like the Red Wings because they have a combination of size, speed, and grit/toughness while the Wings are much more finesse than the Kings. The Kings played much more physical and were much tougher on the boards and that is where they were able to give the Sharks some trouble.
That said, I fully expect to see a different Wings team at the Joe.

Once again I wasn't able to watch the game because I had to go to work, but that's what I heard about the game yesterday is there was no energy from anyone on the Wings yesterday. I fully agree with you in that the Sharks are a perfect opponent to handle the Wings, lol we don't play gritty or physical like you said, and the Sharks can deal with it a whole lot better.
I would HOPE Detroit turns it on at home for these next two games, but it doesn't do them any good if they can't play on the road...especially in the Tank.
Far from over. As we've already seen, a team can dominate for a couple of games and then just fall flat on their face for no apparent reason. And the Sharks have not dominated this series by any means. Each win has been by 1 goal.
