Detroit literally ran out of players. Bertuzzi must of had a seperated shoulder or something since that looked odd.

Couture once again was the best player for the sharks. Please don't say marleau he was fuckin garbage at the begining.

losing Dan Cleary was a huge blow, to make matters worse, Hudlur fucking blew and was the guy to hurt cleary in the first place.

Marleau played better, had a couple really good shifts but he was just around the puck a lot more tonight because he was moving his feet. He didn't have a great game but it was a better game. And I'd say that even if he didn't tap in a goal.

Just an amazing game and an amazing series to be a part of. I had 2 guys in red jerseys to the left of me, 1 more in front of me, and a couple more scattered all around. Good back and forth banter and some real good hockey conversation.

Wings fans, you guys have nothing to be upset about other than the fact that you don't get to see your team play again this season. Nothing but respect for the Wings, what a hockey team. It's hard to hate a team that is so good. Good series.

For the Sharks, the real test finally begins.

Hudler's terribleness stood out. Datsuyk's goal was incredible. A great shot, and no one was able to check him off the puck beforehand. I think San Jose was very fortunate that Niemi was at the top of his game. They never were able to get Detroit away from the front of the net.

Why are backhand goals always the sexiest? Reminded me of Malkin vs Carolina a couple of years ago.

Because they just aren't meant to be so accurate, but fuckin Dats pulled it off like it's something he does in his sleep (probably actually does).

It's downright ridiculous how accurate he is shooting because after that perfect corner backhand snipe from a tough angle, he had that break where he slapped one that was going just to the left of Niemi's head top shelf. The Wings had been shooting for that area because Niemi plays his glove low, and without fail, when needed, Dats lazers a shot in the perfect spot they are after.

              Thankfully Niemi bossed it.

All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

CBC and specifically Jim Hughstons cock sucking for the canucks is in full mode already.

I can barely stand them when they do canuck games as it is but lol if I'm going to watch that sharks feed.

                    Sharks don't have a feed.

Boston looked horrible tonight. Ugliest PP I've seen in a while.

Canucks-Sharks game last night was pretty ugly. The Canucks looked to be the better team, but Luongo isn't very good. I don't like any of Vancouver's players, but they appear to be in good position on defense, they switch from defense to offense quickly, and they know how to "take penalties". Could be a tough series for San Jose.

The Boston-Tampa game earlier was a snoozer. Boston couldn't do anything against Tampa's 1-2-2.

Sharks played smart in the 1st period. They were able to pick their spots to get chances and get the puck out of their own end when they needed to up until about midway through the 2nd.

From then on out, they looked really tired and started to make a bunch of mental mistakes because they just weren't able to skate. Vancouver's speed on the forecheck and aggressiveness gave them fits. San Jose sat back and tried to just sit on their 1 goal lead and they once again blew it in the 3rd period.

I expect a much better effort from the Sharks on Wednesday. It's pretty obvious that they just weren't mentally or physically ready for the Canucks last night. Even still, they had a chance to steal that game. I think this is going to be a long series.

From the recaps on hockey talk shows they said TB didn't play their 1-3-1 in game 1?

I didn't see the game myself...

the sharks played a good 30 minutes...i can even spot them the last half of the second period, but they came out completely defensive in the third and stopped trying to get anything done. i expect to see a lot more out of clowe and pavelski in game 2
