Stamkos has a sick playoff beard. Crosby should take notes.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

          So here's my problem.

I want tampa to win. Mainly because I like their team and have basically followed them as a secondary team all season. Also to add on I hate Boston.

I want boston to win mainly because once their reach the cup finals toronto gets a second round pick due to the condition in the kaberle trade. Obviously the pick would be like 59th or 60th though.

Root for Tampa and hope that Boston re-signs Kaberle so you still get the pick?

I can't remember the condition but its either goto the finals or have to sign some certain length of deal. It was really wierd i think and I the details on it weren't very straight forward.

I'm pretty sure all they have to do is re-sign Kaberle to any deal. I dug up an old Bob McKenzie tweet that makes it seem like that was the condition:

Johnny Boychuk is the worst defenseman ever.

Oh, and Steve Downie is the 2nd biggest cunt in the NHL.

Injury list for San Jose is slowly starting to leak:

That isn’t the only injury Thornton has. Late in the regular season, he hurt his left pinky -– courtesy of the stick of Dallas’ Stephane Robidas. Later, as he compensated for that injury, his right wrist began to ache.

“My pinky went in a different direction than it was supposed to,” Thornton said. “The top just got cut off and they had to put it back together. It happened with a couple games left in the regular season. That surgery probably will happen tomorrow.”
“It was a lot of guys, and I think that’s a good sign,” McLellan said. “We were bumped, banged and bruised a lot more this year than last season. No one ever wants to be hurt, but that’s a good sign.”

I read somewhere that Clowe is going to need shoulder surgery. I'm still waiting to hear something about Pavelski and Setoguchi because both seemed to disappear in the 3rd round.

Just shows you once again how tough hockey players are.

Some news gaining some steam down in Tampa is some issues surrounding Nathan Horton. First, everyone is talking about how much of a bitch he is by swingin on Nate Thompson after the whistle blew to end the game while Thompson's back was turned. THEN, he decided to spit at a Lightning fan. Lightning were made aware of the situation and may go to the league and the fan is being encouraged to come forward on local sports radio and press charges - mainly so they can take the Bruins and Horton's focus off game 7.

Update: NHL front office number getting hammered by Lightning fans complaining about the conduct of Horton.

Heatley played with a broken hand for much of the late regular season, and then twisted his ankle bad in game 3 vs #Canucks on one-timer.
Might explain why he wasn't shooting or skating well. He was definitely worse than I've ever seen him, which doesn't make sense because Heatley was at one point of the most talented hockey players in the world. I know he has declined but he looked like a kid who was just learning how to skate out there.

Just to kind of add onto omars list:

                          1. Jason Demers — right ankle, high sprain from Game 7 of Detroit series. Despite what was said during the Vancouver series he never was 100 percent good to go, mostly from a conditioning standpoint, but felt he might have been fully back for a sixth game in the Western Conference finals.

                          2. Scott Nichol — serious laceration above his knee requiring 20 stitches after being cut by Raffi Torres’s skate blade in Game 2. Nichol said there was no way he could have played in Game 3, and when the newly constructed fourth line had success after that, he totally understood the coaching staff’s decision to keep things as they were.

                          3. Dany Heatley — A broken left hand during the season and a high-ankle injury suffered during Game 3 of the Vancouver series.

                          4. Ryane Clowe — Shoulder separation, similar to Joe Thornton’s. Going to meet with medical staff today to find out if surgery required, likely three to four months of rehab needed. Clowe said only that it occurred in the Detroit series — even when asked directly if it resulted from that major hit by Nicklas Kronwall. Players said Clowe was so badly hurt he needed help getting his jersey on. “The toughest part was starting the game, but once the adrenaline got going, you start to think about other things,” Clowe said. And he thought that the secrecy worked, because Ryan Kesler kept asking him how his concussion was doing.

                          5. Dan Boyle — A damaged MCL in his left knee from a March 17 game against the Minnesota Wild, where he went down awkwardly along the end boards. Knee will have to be scoped to see if further surgery is required.

                          6. Logan Couture — Broken nose suffered when he collided with Clowe in Game 3 of the Vancouver series.

                          7. Joe Pavelski — Bothered by an ankle problem. He missed eight games from late December through early January with a lower body injury, but no confirmation that was the same issue.

                          8. Joe Thornton — Surgery scheduled today to reattach the tip of the little finger that was damaged late in the regular season after a slash from Dallas defenseman Stephane Robidas. Trying to play through that forced him to adjust his grip on the stick and that created a wrist problem, too. The shoulder separation in Game 4 of the Vancouver series? They’re going to wait till the swelling goes down over the next two weeks before determining if surgery is necessary.
