I really hope Vancouver never wins a cup, how classless is thatComment

Canadian authorities are going to have to learn sooner or later that they need to create a lot more legal power and better tactics for this kind of thing. The recent track record shows that when a Canadian team loses this happens. There are many lessons to be learned from Britain on how to deal with a violent culture surrounding sports.
The Canucks should be working with VPD to hand out lifetime arena bans to anyone who gets prosecuted for this type of thing and discussion of penalties in terms of shutting down the arena for a certain number of games should be considered.
The amount of Police on the street at the beginning was diabolical as well, they should have been prepared for the worst and when they heard 100,000 people were hanging out downtown they should have called in just about every officer on their books for that night.Comment

I think people's comments like this are being a bit silly. It's entirely correct that the scene after the game was disgraceful, no doubt.
However, they did this in 94. Montreal does this after every game. Calgary had problems in 2004. Edmonton had problems in 2005. Then there was the guy that was put in the hospital after the Giants/Dodgers game. Lakers fans rioted after their Game 7 win in 2010.
I could list 100's of post game riots in sports.
No sense in picking on a city for it, it's just retarded drunk males being retarded drunk males. It's a worldwide issue with sports. I didn't even touch on football in Europe either.Comment

Kind of a strange end to a strange series. I thought Thomas was very good, but Vancouver didn't get that many "great" shots. It seemed like whenever Vancouver had an open net, they would whiff on the shot completely.
I think Vancouver needed to come out like gangbusters and score early to take the pressure off Luongo, but they came out surprisingly weak. Boston didn't take nearly as many shots, but they controlled the puck. Vancouver couldn't really handle Marchand, and it appeared that whenever he would get the puck Vancouver's defense would lay back and allow him plenty of room. Luongo also had a couple plays where he tried to make saves while dropping his stick, which was odd. This cost them the 2nd goal, because the puck ran up his stick while it was down on the ice and into the goal.
I didn't really like Vancouver, especially after the GM's comments during the Chicago series, and I thought it was fitting that the very last second of the game Bieksa shot a full ice-length slapshot into Thomas' gut. Whatever.
Kesler was probably the biggest dud of the night because he constantly kept asking for the puck but missed the net every time. It was pretty obvious they went with a different strategy and totally gave up on trying to set up plays like they had been doing all year long. The constant defensive pinching really caused a lot of 2 on 1s the other way.
Credit to the bruins though the canucks kept doing that stupid play where they shoot from their own end and a player tips it around the red line and into the zone. The bruins had that countered every time. They also pretty much dominated face offs as well.
The lack of penaltys though was kinda of bothering. It was like when the players figured out the refs really weren't calling anything a ton of bitchassness started and was just meh.

I recall I think Kesler, getting slashed hard on a shot attempt.
Then one of the Nucks flat out ran over Chara (who oversold it, but still) when it had nothing to do with the play, refs looking right at it and didn't give a fuck.
It was dumb they did it like that.Comment
