There is a pretty good batch of FA Dmen out there. The only problem is they could realistically only sign one guy since they have just under 9mil left it looks like.

Filatov to Ottawa for 3rd round pick

I really like this trade. low risk, high reward.

It's great for Filatov who I feel was brought in way to early, and was basically blasted for not being the player they wanted quickly. Ottawa is perfect because they are rebuilding, he could find himself in the line up this year on like third line, OR he goes to The Bing and plays in the AHL where they just won the calder and he can grow.

By Darren Dreger's twitter, Filatov should be a top 6 in Ottawa. From KHL to top 6. Not bad. I'm happy, I got him in a sim league and would have lost him.
