    Sarah Kaufman vs Cyborg

For the guys that follow the female side deeply is this a fight that can eventually happen? Has Sarah fought at 145 before? It just seems to me that this is the fight to make in the womens division since they're running out of good competition with Gina being MIA and Toughill afraid to be in the same building as the girl.

IMO put the 135 title on hold for a bit and make a mega fight between Sarah and Cyborg. From what I see that's as close a matchup as we're going to see between the women right now.

    No.

If it ever were to happen, it would have to be a catchweight.

As long as SF has the multiple womens divisions, no sense in Kaufman/Cyborg unless they're willing to drop the 135 division.

If anything you drop the 145 division, there's no one there anymore.

Kaufman is technically superior standing, actually she is one of the better strikers in all of MMA, male or female

but Cyborg would assault her, she has taken some hard shots from bigger women than Sarah and not flinched

With a quality gameplan Kaufman might be able to do it, but I doubt it

135 is the best class in SF right now, Kaufman will have her hands full with Marloes next, the winner of the tournament Friday night, and Kerry Vera with a couple more fights, no need for it

I think Cyborg will just get fed anyone at this point, the division doesnt even need to be built, she will be used in the Mike Tyson mold, just put her out there and let her awe people

Gina doesn't want none of her anymore. Cyborg shook her the fuck up.

Toughill isn't scared, it's just that she's (amazingly) eaten herself out of making 145 and is a headcase.

Kaufman/Santos could eventually happen, but I doubt it happens anytime soon for the following reasons:

          1. Kaufman is still a relative no-name in the mainstream (has yet to be featured on a non-Challengers card) and at this point having her fight Cyborg would not raise her profile much since she's only had one or two title defense. If Kaufman beats a few more names at 135 then I could see the appeal of a superfight. At this point, not so much.

          2. Talent is easily deeper at 135 than 145. Why would Kaufman agree to move up to 145 to be cannon fodder for Cyborg when she can easily build herself up fighting talented fighters in her own weight class?

You can disband the 145 division if you want, but then your only draw would be without a weight class and it's been proven that she can't make it to 135.

I wouldn't go that far at all. There are plenty of quality matchups at 135.

Kaufman has many good matches, I think Marloes can beat her, not sure who I would pick yet

Kerry Vera with a couple more fights could out strike her, she has some of the best technique in the sport

Cindy Dandois will get a shot at Cyborg, she is really good, I just wish Toughill would put the fork down and get in there with Cyborg

hm, I gotta brush up on my chick fights. I know the match with Coenen will be tough, but didn't she already beat the best girl in this tournament, Tate?

That's mighty high praise, I think her striking would be avg compared to the guys.

Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with a rematch if she wins the tournament.
