Too many bad things could possibly happen if they put off Silva-Sonnen II, which takes away even some of its drawing power. What if Silva plays keep-away against Belfort, wins another boring decision, and pisses off the fans again? Or Belfort manages to win... Is Belfort-Sonnen the same money fight? I can definitely see your point, but from a business perspective, you take the sure thing.

I didn't know about the broken rib, but to me the entire first fight seemed like a setup to the 2nd fight.

By milking Sonnen for five rounds then choking him out? How about a re-buy that will cash in? Hell, even if Silva lost, the re-buy for the rematch would've been huge.
