Everyone in the industry - wrestling, boxing, and MMA - turn to him and trust him for the numbers. If his estimates ended up being way off, nobody would use his numbers anymore. McMahon, HBO, King, White, everybody goes to him. He clearly knows what he's doing. Stop being in denial, and just be glad we have someone willing to do the geek work to get the figures, because the promoters would either feed us bullshit or not reveal anything.

Dana White is telling people 1 mil, that is a perfect example. Thanks to Meltzer that nonsense gets squashed.

It serves a purpose, it puts the ball in The UFC's court and makes it show they don't want to put together the fight for the fans

GSP actually talked up Shields before he even left, but UFC fans and media had toilet paper in there ears

Overeem will be number 1 when it's over and calling out the UFC's 'business model' will turn heads, maybe the fans and media will jump on board and push for it

Overeem (or whoever) can call out Cain in a classy way, and it will come off looking good. If it's lame trash talk, it looks bad because it will look like grandstanding.

Why would King, HBO, White, Vince 'go to him' for anything? That makes no sense, they now how much money they will make and end up getting, having a pro wrestling blogger as a source does nothing for them

            1. Show me when GSP used critical PPV/TV time (when all eyes are on him) to talk about any non-UFC fighter.

            2. Nobody is forcing the UFC to copromote. Pride fucked them over and they've decided to never do it again. Get over it.

            3. Yeah, because showing us "who doesn't want to book the fight" means anything. Does anyone even care about the whole Bellator/Strikeforce bitchfest about Melendez and Alvarez? Hell no, that's yesterdays news and frankly, both sides came off looking like assholes.

Just focus on making your own product better. Can't stress that shit enough.

The Reem is all class, just say 'lets make this for the fans' at the end, 'I am a champion, you have a champion, forget politics and lets do this'

go watch wrestling and stop trying to not move the sport forward for the UFC's money, worry about making fights, not PPV numbers

Remember this, if The Reem or Fedor win the GP and calls out Cain, if the first thing you say is 'the UFC doesnt do that, its not there business model' you are not a fan of the sport and it will never change with fans like you

                    you're such a work

Rob has some fantasy land hope that somehow Dana White will hear about someone calling out his champion on a competing network in a competing promotion and all of a sudden have a complete 180 change of heart....text/call Scott Coker and say "fuck you, my guy can beat your guy....lets book it"

They go to him for the early estimate. They don't know anything other wise until they start seeing the cuts from the hundreds (if not thousands) of cab/sat companies.

Seriously, the problem with this sport is there are more fans like you than me

I don't get why you're fixated on interpromotional fights between UFC, Strikeforce or Bellator.

Sure it would be cool as fuck, but it's not happening.

Nothing I, you or any other fan can do or say will change that.
