List just jumped the shark for me. Anderson's dancing ways should have him riding the same kind of list GSP rides.

Ok, lets break this down foreal.. this whole thing is getting blown way out of proportion with Georges.
Last official finished fight was BJ... the beat down was so bad that the towel was thrown in for Penn.. dude isnt a natural WW, whatever the case is, GSP was looking to finish and did.
Next fight was Alves. St Pierre was very aggressive in this fight, and I dont recall a whole lot of bitching going on at this time about the way he was fighting. He also did this with a torn groin.
Next fight was Hardy, who GSP clearly tried pretty hard to finish on the ground. We've already gone over the fact that he didnt wanna snap Hardy's arm, we all know he could've done it, so why let it take away from anything? Again, St Pierre, very aggressive and looking to finish in this fight.
Next fight was Koscheck, and Pierre just picked him apart. Now the people are starting to bitch that St Pierre aint trying to finish.. he just nearly blinded a man, Koscheck is a tough dude, he wouldnt go down. But I agree that St Pierre is getting less aggressive at this point.
Then we have the last fight with Jake, witch again, I agree Georges should've been more aggressive in. But he was having vision issues, he was going for a looopy over hand right that he obviously was hoping was going to do some damage, but to no avail.
Ive talked about Georges and the respect factor many times before, especially following Serra, but you cant discredit the fights hes finished in the past, and base it on the past 4 that he couldnt finish. Spider won the dance contest against Maia, Leites, and Cote.. and got worked for 4 and a half rounds against Sonnen.. and somehow he is getting the pass that GSP doesnt receive? Some bullshit going on in here. GSP DOMIANTES dudes.. Silva has some amazing KO's, but has shit the bed badly way more then GSP could even dream of doing.Comment

GSP does dominate, there's no debating that. he is an amazing skilled fighter. he makes his victories look easy and is rarely in danger, but people want to see him finish fights and thats the bottom line. he seems to coast to victory and doesn't pull the trigger to try and go for the kill. a wins a win and all of his recent fights have been very one-sided but its still lacking that big ko/sub finish. 5 out of his last 6 six fights have been decision vicotries (Penn victory was officially ruled a corner stoppage). hes still a top p4p fighter (i have him #2 after silva) and i really hope before the end of this year we can see him fight either diaz or silva.Comment

GSP is too tactical for his own good, in a sense.
He works his plan, and rarely if ever loses a round to anybody. I can't be critical because he wins in a varierty of different ways each fight. He's not vintage Tito or modern UFC wrestler guy laying on top nof people for 5 rounds. He stifles your strength and beats you with your weakness. He's probably the best and most complete fighter ever.Comment

That doesnt mean much other than he fights worried. I saw it big time before the Shields fight. Hes very aware of his image and the pressure. I respect that but it makes him hesitant.
Sure Silva danced around but I dont see how thats any better than grasping a guy or or just throwing jabs and avoiding the engagement it takes to finish a fight. Same motivation except GSP does it non stop every fight.
He is the most complete fighter ever that didnt use all of it. Just dont see him above Silva in any way after what Silva has done to guys.
EDIT:Just realized Im starting to feel the same way about GSP as I did about DeLaHoya after the Trinidad fight.Best reason to have a license.

2. Nick Diaz
If you looked up the word fighter in the dictionary it would show a picture of Nick Diaz…beating up the fighter
Nick burst on the scene as a ‘jiu jitsu guy’ who in his 2nd UFC fight knocked out heavy handed golden boy Robbie Lawler, he didn’t look for a takedown, started taunting Lawler, even Rogan didn’t know why this kid was standing in front of Robbie until he KO’d him, it’s almost impossible for Nick to not be in an exciting fight, unless the other guy just flat out refuses and holds on for ‘the win’ (Sherk), even some of his losses are some of his better performances, see Diaz vs Karo and Diaz vs Sanchez
After not re-signing with the UFC, Nick took out the number 1 LW in the world Gomi is a classic which ended with a bloody Diaz subbing Gomi with a gogoplata, he has one loss due to a cut stoppage from KJ Noons who he later beat in a 5 round title fight and is on a 10 fight win streak (9 stoppages) but his last fight might have been some of his best work, taking on ‘world class’ striker Paul Daley, Diaz’s finished off Daley in primarily a stand up fight after being dropped twice, Daley was actually the only one to shoot for a takedown in the fight
If everyone fought like Diaz the sport would be in much better shape than the current point fighting mentality that makes a lot of fights unwatchable
Record: 25 - 7 - 0
Wins:
13 (T)KOs
8 Submissions
4 Decisions
Losses:
2 (T)KOs
5 Decisions
Next Fight: Rumored to fight Jeff Lacy in boxing, but also could be against GSP

MMA is a SPORT now, not a sideshow for entertainment. You have these athletes coming in to the game as a SPORT so, expect the results of a sport. GSP is the best in the game at this. He is the equivalent of Lennox Lewis...a pugilistic specialist, just, of the MMA world. Won't win bonus points for entertainment, but he'll beat everybody.Comment
